It's actually better to file for a CR1 visa which only takes 1-2 months longer than the K3. It's less expensive and you won't have to worry about having to file for AOS after you arrive in the US. Also, since you would have to file both, an I-129F form and an I-130 for a K3, the NVC will toss the I-129F if they receive them both at the same time or if they receive the I-130 from the USCIS, which happens to most people, so you'd end up with a CR1 visa anyway.

Please read the guides for both the CR1 and K3 visa found here on VJ: CR1 Visa guides & K3 Visa guide.

Since the K3 visa is no longer available, the CR1 is much faster than forever. Follow the CR1 guide.

Dry your tears and study the CR1 guide. Start thinking in terms of 5 to 8 months from filing to visa.
