Welcome to USA Letter?

I was approved for my visa yesterday but I did not get the welcome to USA letter.

Can anyone summarize it for me or upload a copy if you have a scanner?

I am hoping I get one with what they mail to me but can you tell me if there is anything important in it that I should know for POE.

Don't worry -- the initial letter is nothing important, really. You should receive a four page (double-sided) letter with more information in the envelope with your passport and sealed package.

Welcome to USA letter? Where did you hear of that? Is it specific to CR1. We were K1 and received nothing of the sort, nor has anyone that I know of received one.

The only Welcome to America we received were the words uttered by the CO after the interview and the same by the CBP at POE, BUT THAT WAS GOOD FOR US!

Interesting! Maybe if you receive your visa and POE document pack by mail they include this.

Nah, it's a letter that the CO gives to you at your interview. I THINK it might just be for CR-1 / IR-1 visas, given that those folks are immigrants / residents upon approval and entry, whereas K-1s are still nonimmigrants.

I dont recall getting anything from the consulate! One does get a 'welcome to the USA" letter in the mail 3-4 weeks after you enter the USA. many get multiple copies of it! Usually a few days later ur actual greencard appears, that is if one went the cr-1/ir-1 route

I did not receive one at our interview last May either. I received two of the "Welcome to the USA" letters however , which has a receipt number on it that allows you to track production of your green card through the USCIS site.

As Wyatt mentioned when you receive your visa package it will include instructions for your POE.

K-1's do get "Welcome to the USA" letters, it just comes a lot later! When your AOS is approved they send you one by mail welcoming you to the USA (like you haven't been there for months already...) and telling you when you should expect to receive your Green Card.
