Hi all

We had our interview today in the NY city office. The original date was February 10th but we had a bad snow storm it was canceled and reschedule for today at 7:30 am. we waited 30 minutes to go inside and another 15 minutes to be called. He ask a couple of questions. In the middle of the interview he had a phone called, but he continued. 10 minutes later he said thank you we shook hands and the INS Officer said we had a "good interview". wrote on my husband passport

section 245 interview march 17, 2010 cr# his A# I-486 pending NYC and the officers name. Our attorney's asked him when will it be process, he said he was very busy, as you can see I get called in the middle of the interview but as soon as possible.

Here is our questions

1. is this ( section 245 interview march 17, 2010 cr# his A# I-486 pending NYC and the officers name) a bad thing?

2. does this mean we are approved, but waiting processing of GC? (our attorney said we are approved)

3. I think we are approved the man said "good interview" but my husband want a definite yes or no

4. do people in NYC office get the GC stamp on their passport?

Thanks

Marie

It sounds to me like it is an approval. They generally don't stamp the passports with the I-551 stamp (green card stamp) anymore as the green cards come quickly in the mail. It could be that the Interviewing Officer needs a senior officer to sign off on the interview, but yes, to me it sounds very positive. I expect you should be hearing something very soon - have you signed up for the online status update? That is probably where you will see the approval listed first - although not always:) . Sometimes it is just when the approval notice or green card show up in the mail. I'd say congratulations are in order:).

Don't worry if you did not get a stamp.

My interview was in Los Angeles office. My application was approved, but never had any stamp on my passport. The interviewer printed me a "congratulations letter" right in the office, and I received a formal "approval letter" 3 days after the interview. Now waiting for the card to arrive.

So you might want to wait for a few days and see if you'll get a formal letter (797 Form) that says "Welcome to America". B-)

01/13/2012 - I-751 application package mailed to CSC via USPS

01/14/2012 - Package delivered

01/19/2012 - $590 check cleared

01/20/2012 - NOA received, receipt dated 01/17/2012

01/24/2012 - Biometric appointment notice received - 2/10

02/10/2012 - Biometrics taken

07/05/2012 - Green Card arrived in mail! (No approval letter received prior to the card, no interview)

Done with USCIS until... well, next year, for N-400 :)

12/19/2012 - N-400 application mailed to Phoenix

12/21/2012 - Package delivered

12/31/2012 - NOA received

01/09/2013 - Biometric appointment notice received

01/17/2013 - Biometrics taken

02/19/2013 - Interview request letter received - interview scheduled on 03/21/2013

Hi, I am in the same situation. My wife and I had the interview a week ago, and at the end the official told me she had to think about my case and that we will receive the answer in the mail in about 2 to 4 weeks, she wrote I-485 pending A#...........CR6 Section 245 signature and date, the same the officer wrote on your passport. As your case was one year ago i would like to know what happened after, did you receive your GC? how long did it take?
