Well today we had our AOS interview in Atlanta. We were handed an RFE at the interview along with an envelope to return our immunisation sheet in once we had the correct one. I know that it is our silly fault for not having the correct form but I assumed that the form filled in by the civil surgeon in Australia was what everyone here on visajourney had been referring to. Anyway we went straight to a civil surgeon from the list that was given to us and paid the $75 to have the correct form filled in. Then we went straight to the post office and mailed it in. I asked the interviewer if that meant that we would have to wait for another interview and he said that was our interview and he couldn't say how long things would take from then. I only had the FBI fingerprinting appointment on Saturday and I doubt that would be back by now anyway. The interviewer didn't want to see any of our evidence or any of the other things that we had been asked to bring he really only had a few questions for each of us such as how we had met and when we were married etc. It was pretty painless all in all and with a bit of luck this won't be held up too much longer. My husband said that we will wait for 30 days after we get our return reciept for our letter and if we haven't heard anything by then we will call the information line to see if we can find out anything about our case.

Has anyone else had a situation the same as ours that they can share a timeline with us????

It seems like the interview went well apart from the RFE. Hope it's not long before you get a positive response.

Thanks, I am hopeful that since we went straight away and got the immunisation sheet done and sent straight off that it won't be too long before we hear something. I must say that I was expecting more questions and was a bit put out when he didn't want to see any of the documents we had gathered up. I carried that big heavy bag of stuff in there for nothing. I guess that if we hadn't of had it all though he would of wanted to see more.

If he didn't ask to see your stuff and didn't ask many questions, it sounds like you got approved on condition your health/immunisations are ok. I think (hope) you'll be fine, but I know it's hard waiting. Good luck.

I don't get it, they gave you an RFE at the interview because of that? Couldn't they have done that when receiving your AOS application?

Damn, that s*cks!

Good luck, i hope it's nothing!

Yeah I can't believe it either. I figured that the form from the US immigration that I took to the Australian Civil Surgeon was all that was needed and I have read of other people being approved with that form since this happened to us. I would of thought that since they had our AOS application for 19 months before our interview finally happened that they had time to ask for it. I did ask him if we have to wait for another interview and he said that we had our interview so hopefully we are approved after they get the form in the mail which they should have by now. It is frustrating becuase we can't check our status online as that was never updated from them cancelling an interview back in December last year so I guess we just wait again. I am hoping that I will just go to the mail one day and there will be a green card there.
