Well My Wife speak English and writes it very well. Having said that we still understand each other quite a lot... Sometimes to the point of being angry. I guess speaking English in ones own land is different because you're speaking to non native English speaking folks, like yourself who have the same accent and miss lots of the subtleties of the language. My Mom use to get messed up all the time cause she would think the words just as we said them, without understanding that we didn't mean exactly what the words said. Does that make sense? You know like "Thats a horse of a different color." That kind of statement. Not the literal meaning right

Teya, I am far from rich I have just had longer to save my money than you have. I remember speaking to someone not so long ago about wanting this car when I was 16. I had worked at McDonalds for a long time and save up the money to buy it. It was a 57 Chevy Belair... Oh man I wanted that car. I could see the girls hanging on to me while I drove around town in it. Well it cost $300 and my folk wouldn't let me buy it. I was crushed... Well the person I told this to said you cant buy a Car for $300... And she was serious. Well Yeah we could ... All day long we could... Of course I only made 90cent an hour. When I went into the Army my first months pay was $80 per/mth. When I got out is was $305 mth and we were not look at as heroes then like now.

You're right, I am rich compared to some other people in other countries. We all are... Actually we dont have poor people in the US in my view. Because Poor people dont have Refrigerators, TV and Cars. They dont eat 2 times a day and are not over weight. Usually people without in the US are uneducated, mental or addicted to something. Even then they can get assistance if they apply or go to other helping facilities. You dont see those kind of things as much in other countries. Its up to family to help their own their... I think also that is why families are more important in other places were here in the US we are losing that. Everyone here wants to leave home as soon as they can while what I saw overseas was people staying for generations if not in the same house then next door. I am sure its not like that every where but it sure was in PI. My wife is still living in the house she was born in. I cant even imagine that.

Signed, Sealed and Delivered!

Tena- yeah. We all go off topic. Maybe some one will distract us for a minute or two. Don't be afraid to throw some ideas out. I have been shot down before and am still here :).

Tom-It is that way in many countries around the world. You help out your family until you have nothing left to give (literally). Before I ever met my husband, I said to myself and to some friends that I want to raise my child in a foreign country so that they can know what it is like to have and have not for real and then they can compare that to the U.S. and base their opinions of things. I grew up as being a not-have-so-mucher here and I have learned a lot from that. Your life is richer when you realize the real value of possessions and people. Richness comes from much more than a $ sign. My husband doesn't feel like he is rich at all because of his surroundings and upbringing and from the outside he isn't very rich at all, but I tell him and his family that they are some of the richest people I know because of the monetary things that they lack. I wish I could "save the world" but I need to start smaller than that to be able to do any good. Anyway...you with your thinking and wisdom...

OK USCIS, I just found a new set of emoticons on here to describe the emotions you invoke:

:wow::girlwerewolf2xn::diablo::cry::clock::ranting::protest:

Obviously not in that order.

As well as: :crying::dance::help::bonk::whistle::blink::wacko::unsure::(:angry:

and : <_<:o:huh:

Teya

May I ask what options NVC has to make payment?

It is enough having a regular savings account ?

Have you located the package you sent to your possible co-sponsor? I hope you have.

Hat's off to Tom and Teya.

I think you guys hit the nail on the head with your words. One other thing I would add is to those that are homeless... Tom, when you have visited the Phil's you probably saw this, young children, filthy dirty, no shoes and in bad need of a haircut with their hand out for pesos..... At least here when you are homeless, their are shelters. I am sure there are cases of extreme here, but generally as Tom said, "no one here is really poor". Especially when the poor ones are driving "souped up caddies, or suv's". Heck, they drive a better vehicle than me.......

Hey Boldee, are you sure that your NOA1 is March 16? I know I made the mistake of using the date posted on the USCIS website which was March 15th. Oh, as far as what payment the NVC accepts, for the online payment portal:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3906.html

There is an "alternate" payment option that can be clicked as well:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3905.html

And no, I still haven't heard anything about the arrival of my AOS package to the possible co-sponsor. Nor has the NVC chosen to decline my payment error :)/:(. Oh well.

C'mon good news USCIS!

I am of the opinion that you cannot make much of a difference in your local community if you live in Western world. Here, most people already are literate. So teaching them a few new mathematical theorem does nothing to them. And to a person who earns $1400 a month, making $200 more doesn't change a whole lot.

However, if you were to take you butt to a poor country and teach a child how to read, write and give him a proper mean to earn just $1 a day, you can make visible and tangible changes to his life. I've noticed this first hand. And the instant gratification you get when a child tells you a story in English, who would otherwise be rolling in street filth, is more than I can ever describe. If anyone of you have the luxury to take off a few months and want to make a change, go to Asia, Latin America, or Africa. Do something good. Otherwise adopt a orphan through various websites. Join up KIVA.com, give small loans to poor people who can turn your $500 dollars into a booming family business.

Teya, I think you're on here too much. Don't change it. USCIS's last approval was from NOA1 date 10-MARCH-2010. It's creeping along, so slowly. But atleast it's moving.
