Canadiagirl,it would be funny if we got our approval the same date, too :P

It has been just 6 days since our NOA1 but the wait for the NOA2 already drives me nuts.

I know it is gonna take some time, no need to get all worked up. I also know that time is gonna go by fast and that I should enjoy my time here in Germany but...it is just hard. :(

Do you guys go through the same "struggles"?

Hi JuneFirst,

I saw in your timeline that your NOA1 was "touched." Can you tell me what that means? We filed at the beginning of March and I've checked the USCIS "check on my case status" webpage pretty much everyday, but I've never seen this "touched" thing that many people speak of. Any suggestions? Thanks so much, Jess.

We are a little bite further down on our case. Our NAO2 took some time we got our NAO1 on November 13th 2009 and got our approval notice on February 15th. Now we are waiting the NVC processing to get a interview. We also hired an Attorney. remain positive and loving each other.

Good luck

Dated April 6th, we received our NOA1 yesterday!

Question: Our envelope arrived unsealed and didnt even appear to be sealed at any point (clean envelope). Does the NOA1 just come with one piece of paper in it? Should we call our service centre to inform them of this?

So what forms are you guys getting ready before getting your NOA2?

Guess i am not too sure what to do next.

Waiting, waiting, waiting - I am going nuts!!

We are getting ready

1) PC and translation

2) Ds-230, Affidavit of Support Form, Tax Transcripts, Self-Employment Declaration letter

3) Birth Certificate

4) Marriage Certificate

5) Divorce Decrees

6) Copies of former visas

7) Copies of passport

8) Pictures

9)... well, I guess just all the NVC stuff.

Furthermore we are preparing for the interview and getting also ready for the medical.

Time to go back to work

So, we got our NOA1 on the 19th of March, and no touch yet. I noticed a lot of you have gotten touches, now I'm getting paranoid.

Yap, I really seems like about everybody's case here has been touched - which takes away some of the touch-excitement.

If I were you I would not worry. You got your NOA1, and about another 4,5 months time before you should start worrying  I wish it was already August/Septermber/October - I wish it was already time to go home.

Hi John,

have a safe trip and enjoy the time with your wife! Those little trips really are necessary to survive, aren't they?

Most of the paperwork that we need for this next step (NOA2) we already have in order. The one thing I have to get is a long form birth cerificate, which will take about 6-8 weeks to come in. I have been saving all cards, notes, emails etc for 5 years now, so those have all been put away. It's weird for us to save emails, chats and stuff considering that we talk everyday and see each other almost everyday, since we only live about 40 min apart.

Also, what exactly is this 'touched' thing? Do you find this out just by login onto USCIS.gov and checking the status of our case?

Took me awhile to figure that out also. When you login into your USCIS account to check status, it will show you last updated date. All that means is they looked at your account for whatever reason. VJ calls that a touch.
