Darnell - How does the timeline know which dates are coming across or opened at the desk? Is it based on people updating their timelines or something else?

Sorry, I confused myself .. my bad. You're asking about the VJ TimeLine stuff, I was answering about USCIS processing stuff.

IIRC, for VJ Timeline stuff, it's counted as ppl are updating their timelines. But - is also some 'weight' applied as well - I don't know that particular weighting computation (sorry ).

111 pages. Maybe. If the page count gets too high for you, you can change 'viewable posts per page' in yer control panel to freakishly large number.

I have some queries if somebody can answer.

Is the PCC to be obtained after getting the appointment letter? I think they wont give without the appointment letter.

Do We have to take the original PCC directly at the time of interview and not to be submitted to the NVC?

We submit only the local police certificate to the NVC ?

please correct me if i m wrong

You are right about not getting the passport office PCC until you get the checklist from NVC. Ahmedabad office is really strict about it and they will not give it to you. I was planning on just sending the local police certificate to NVC and then in the cover letter mention that without the checklist or appointment letter, I cannot obtain the PCC.

I would go that route for now. Just mention in your cover letter that Passport office PCC will be provided at the time of the interview due to the following reason.

And then just hope that they dont send you a RFE. And if they do decide to send you a RFE, then you would have to have your spouse get it from AMD office.

You might have to get that fixed. I think you need the last names. Here is what lingche's shortcut has to say:

Beneficiary’s birth certificate (Certified) WARNING - Some birth certificates have an EXPIRATION DATE

Each applicant will need to obtain an original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in the country of birth, showing the date and place of birth and the parentage of the alien, based upon the original registration of birth.

The certificate must contain the:

Person’s date of birth

Person’s place of birth

Names of both parents, and

Annotation by the appropriate authority indicating that it is an extract from the official records

Here is the thing, if you passport is more than 6 months old (when you are in NVC stage or during interview time), then you need two different police certificates.

1) From the passport office in Ahmedabad.

2) From local police station in baroda.

My wife is also from baroda and she plans on getting her local police station certificate and send it to me. She tried going to AMD passport office to get the PCC and they straight up said no. To get your local police certificate, i think you have to go to narmada bhavan and ask them the form for the certificate. They will send you to the right police station.

The time line went down again. Apparently starting next Tuesday, I should begin to receive something . My new NOA1 is still MIA.

Teya - It is good news but again, I havent seen any new approvals lately. So we still have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of weeks. If I start seeing 7-10 March Filers getting approved a week, then it means USCIS has now moved back to working on IR1-CR1 visas. Good luck to everyone.
