Hey everybody,

We wonder how many other people are filinf at the same time and thought it would be fun to take the visa journey together online.

I filed for my husband on March 04, 2010

NOA1 received March 19, 2010

waiting for NOA2

Praying a lot! Good thing is that I live abroad with my hubby (L)

oops  I made a mistake with my post. I'm new to the terminology and all. Because we are being processed through the Embassy/Consulate abroad, I think our process is a bit different. I didn't receive an actual NOA 1 hard copy and such...the Consulate sent a "Received" email. Something very odd, the Consulate also stated that my interview was scheduled for March 30th and to bring all of my original documents and pay the fee at the time of the interview. Of course, this is an impossible fate, as we don't even have a case number!! Because this process is so confusing, I've sent an email to the NVC, requesting my case number, and another email to the Consulate asking for clarification - what about authorization?? Now I'm waiting for responses to my emails...keep your fingers crossed.

Got an email this morning from the Rio Consulate explaining that "they received my petition" and the scheduled appointment is for the "filing interview" and my petition cannot be approved without having this interview. Missed the interview yesterday, but they'll reschedule me for the day I want. Gotta get to Rio!!

Hey everybody,

Is CR-1/R-1 visa faster than K3 visa? I'm just confused..me & my husband just got married last month here in the philippines & we are planning to do the K3 visa soon..but from my research here on VJ,they were saying that if the NVC receives both the I-130 & the I-129F,they will drop the K3 & pursue the I-130...I need advice on what we're gonna do. Is it smart that we just send I-130 w/o the I-129F? I also wanna know how long it takes until they issue the visa? Thanks for the advises that anyone can give.....

File I-130 first...once your recieve NO1, just go ahead file I-129f. Most case both would be approved at the same time. yes, k3 would be alot faster than cr-1/r-1, but things getting better at NVC so cr-1/r-1 are just few couple weeks longer than k3 visa.

Wow, you started this process 1 year ago??That is a looong time...how come it has taken so long?

It took us ages since it took us 4 months to get through the California Service Centre. (It was such a long wait at the time because they were doing work visa's during this month and april, which delayed a ton of spousal visas.) Then, when we finally got approved, thanks to military expedite, they ''lost'' our file, so NVC didn't get it until a month after approval. Then, it took us like 3 months to get through NVC because my husband was deployed and it was really hard getting all the papers we needed for AOS and what not. But we're done now! SO YAY. <3

If they approved in a logical chronological order, I would be first. That doesn't seem to be the case though. I will def let the rest of the March ppls know!

Yea, I wonder how the decide which case to work on first? It sure does not seem like there is a pile and they just start with the first one.

We got our NOA1 today in the MAIL today, also when I went to check the status there was already a touch :D. We were extremely happy to get it. Call it our Easter present :). We had a botch up on one of the forms so we had to resubmit. From the looks of things it was done in 8 days which is great.
