- I-130 Sent, February 22, 2010

- NOA2 June 23, 2010

National Visa Center

- Called July 6, 2010 Got case number and gave email address (Operator said case arrived July 2)

- Received two emails with DS3032 and AOS bill payment July 8, 2010

- Email DS3032 July 8, 2010 (Did not receive auto response)

- Sent payment online AOS bill July 9, 2010

- Sent payment online IV fee bill July 14, 2010

- Received IV instruction packet July 16, 2010

- AOS and IV packet delivered at NVC, July 30, 2010

- Case Closed August 25, 2010

- Interview October 12, 2010 APPROVED!!!

My son´s Journey

- I-130 Sent, February 22, 2010

- NOA2 July 7, 2010

National Visa Center

- Received email stating my son´s case must be processed electronically, AOS fee bill included in email, July 22, 2010

- Sent email to NVCElectronic to OPT-IN For Electronic Processing, July 23, 2010

- Received email from NVCElectronic OPT-IN accepted July 26, 2010

- Received email letter DS 3032 was accepted, letter included lV fee bill invoice, July 28, 2010

- IV Status: Paid July 29, 2010

- AOS and IV packet sent via email (forms and documents scanned) August 3, 2010

- Received email from NVCElectronic to let me know my son´s case was closed August 26, 2010

- Interview October 8, 2010 APPROVED!!!

Got a touch on BOTH of our I-129F and our I-130 today, that's the 2nd touch since getting our NOA1 so maybe it's a good sign? Here's hoping...

I am confused now. How does USCIS know if one is applying for K3 or CR1 visa?

I also have read here that K3 are all converted to CR1

If so, where and when would one need to send in I-129?

I only sent in I-130 but on my cover letter did not mention that I am applying for K3 or CR1.

I am confused now.

1. How does USCIS know if one is applying for K3 or CR1 visa?

2. I also have read here that K3 are all converted to CR1

3. If so, where and when would one need to send in I-129?

4. I only sent in I-130 but on my cover letter did not mention that I am applying for K3 or CR1.

1. If petitioner sends in I-129F after NOA-1 on the I-130, then USCIS assumes BOTH petitions are being applied for.

2. eh - not converted. The I-129F will be administratively closed at NVC if it travels together to NVC with the approved I-130 petition.

3. Beats me - after 1 FEB 2010, there seem to be some sadists around who still want to file the I-129F.

4. Did you mention the words 'I-130 petition' anywhere? Don't sweat this.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

23rd July 2010: I130 Approved
Your I-130 was approved in 120 days from your NOA1 date.

30th July 2010: NVC Received
14th Sept 2010: Case complete at NVC
22nd Oct 2010: Interview date assigned
19th Nov 2010: Interview at 7:30 A.M IST APPROVED
Passport with visa in hand on the same day.

N400 Sent: 31st Oct 2013

NOA1: Nov 4th 2013

Letter for Biometrics recievied with Appt on 12/09/2013: Nov 18th 2013

Biometrics done: Nov 22nd 2013

For my profile here at VJ I changed my filing location from Chicago Lockbox to California Service Center it is okay or should I change it again to Chicago Lockbox? The receipts numbers (wife and son) start WAC.
