I just called USCIS again just for sh**s and giggles. The girl who answered said something that makes me feel very badly. She said the five months estimate isn’t really an estimate of a timeframe within which your case will be process. Rather, it's just telling you that they'll put up your case on the shelf for five months before they start working on it. Even though my NOA1 days was more than five months ago, I'm still within normal processing time she said. She also said I cannot put on a service request. Despite the fact that one was placed a few days ago when I officially crossed the five months period. I am so confused now. There's a sense of anger in me now. I've waited five months patiently like a good citizen and I was told one thing. Now that five months are over, I'm being told, what literally amounts to, sun revolving around the earth and not earth around the sun.

What am I to do now? I did contacted my senate immigration help lady just yesterday. Nothing so far on that regard. I don't plan on bothering her until Monday. What I was told by this silly USCIS phone lady above has to be wrong. Right? I can patiently wait wait another 2/3 weeks. After that I fear I will be way very much frustrated. From Igor's Timeline, looks like USCIS is just starting on forth week of April applications. Mine is dated 27-APR-2010.

Yesterday I was transfered to a second level guy who said there are no RFE on my case. I had forgotten to ask if they have actually started to work on my case or not. Sine there are no touches, I think they haven't started to work in my case yet. I wish there was at least a touch on my case to give me some sort of peace of mind. I don't know what else to do. There is nothing else I CAN do except wait.

Sorry indigo.. i hope things work out for you. you should hear from them very soon. theya re working hard on april filers so i wouldn't be surprised that within two weeks you should be done. hopefully. it is very frustrating. this nvc process is no better. i am very frustrated with it also. waiting and waiting. how hard is it to look at tax returns and this paperwork. it should take 2 to 3 hours tops. i know they ahve a lot of people filing but better communication would be great.

I am not agree here that USCIS has started working on 4th week. It's only one case. Besides If you look at the approval rate, it's very high compare to last couples of weeks back. So be petient, a bit and rely more on the senator's office. They will definately do a good inquiry on your behalf. Meanwhile this CSR's are no good at all. You should talk to an IO. And if you have talked to an IO, just ignore them, because sometimes they are also giving some #######.

Just believe in yourself, and wait somemore time. Meanwhile by 7th oct, if you don't hear any thing from senator's office, just call them and find out what's the status.

But after next week is over, and on 11 oct, if you don't hear anything, just call Ruth. 949-389-3213 california service center. She is good at replying.
