Hi Bobby,

I see that your wife will be appearing for the interview in New Delhi. Since New delhi is supposed to be a standard review post do you happen to know whether the civil documents such as PCC, Birth Certificate etc have to sent along with the DS 230 packet to NVC or do we just need to submit DS230 and Ds20001 to NVC?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Gautam

I recently decided to contact my senators to get them involved in the process. Just in case I need them for something, even if just evidence and support on the day of interview.

Today I got a letter from my senator saying the following in the attachment.

I'm sure others here already had an idea or indication about this - but I am discouraged by the letter. It is better to know something I suppose than to keep wondering but still I am saddened because I also had plans to see my wife again soon.

Feb 13th???? Are you kidding me...if that's the case then we are never going to get approved. NOOOOOO

singh,

Yes you have to send your civil documents along with your DS230 for your wife to the NVC. I am not sure what the DS20001 - I have never heard of this.

This is the link for the NVC stuff you have to send. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

Come on, chill out everybody. Seriously.

I don't mean that in a bad way. I know what it's like to stress over the wait. But I'm seeing a lot of people getting unreasonably desparate. You're only hurting yourself. Don't do it.

It took 126 days for my I-130 to get approved with an NOA1 date of Feb 24th. That's over 4 months. Based on this I don't see why anyone with a later NOA1 date would expect to get their approval in less than 4 months.

I know that's not what you want to hear but that's just the way it is. You can always hope for better of course, but don't stress out and get all worked up because you haven't been approved yet if you're under 4 months.

Things can always change and the processing time may start decreasing again at any time but, as long as they are within their official target of 5 months they probably don't have much incentive to do so.

For what it's worth my case was never "touched" until the day of approval. So that alone is no reason to freak out either.

I know what it's like to keep loging in and get frustrated over the same message about your case being in initial review. I got so used to seeing it that it took me a few seconds to realize the "Last updated" date had changed when it did!

I think the way to look at it is that as long as you are within the official timeframe no news isn't bad news. Unless you know of a possible reason for them to deny your case most likely it's just a matter of time.

So, hang in there, and try not to sweat it.

I sincerely hope this helps you guys. And, again, good luck to you all.

Arnaud

Actually I agree with Arnaud.

Now that I have had the chance to sit down and digest - it is really not that much of a deal. We are somewhat close to having our files touched and according to this letter in about one month's time (give or take a few weeks) a lot of us will see some responses to our cases.

And it is true our processing time can change - so I still have faith and will keep going with the process.

Thanks for the words by the way, Arnaud

Hi..posted this as topic.. just doing it here again because no reply yet..

The address to send DS3032 that I got from wiki page here is

National Visa Center

ATTN: ACL

32 Rochester Avenue Portsmouth,

NH 03801-2909

United States of America

Today i received DS3032 via email from NVC (is this an older version because it says - EXPIRATION DATE: 12/31/2006?)

and in that, the address mentioned is

National Visa Center

ATTN: ACL

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 200

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

United States of America

My questions are...

1. Is the address mismatch because of older version?

2. Now which address do I send it to?

3. I had already send the signed form to my USC spouse, but that was a newer version. Never knew NVC would send an older version.

4. Does my USC petitioner need to print out soft copy of this, cut the bar code part and fix it onto the already signed form she has with her? Does it help?

I had already emailed the DS3032 to NVC using the template in wiki... I sent it one day before they sent me this form via e-mail(was that okay to do?)

Looks like i wont be bringing my wife with me end of the year when i go see her again :(

Hey man, our story is very much same, I am also waiting for my approval and if possible visa interview in nov or dec, so that my wife can come here and we can travel back togather.......but looking at the current pace, i don't think it's possible now......frustrating thing is that NVC is also getting slower now.

there is not one approval in three days. i find this hard to believe but even if there is one that is not enough. Hopefully all of you are right and we get approved by next week and they start going crazy.

 Maybe they have a quota for each month, and like June, they will wait until days before the deadline to meet the quota. Right now they're playing poker until the general Manager shows up. Maybe their using Petitions instead of Chips  Maybe I should have sent a box of chocolates with my petition  Had I known the process would have been this slow and random, I certainly would have paper clipped some McDonald breakfast Gift certificates to my I-130. I may do it for My DS-230  is it against the law?

According to the chart above, pending applications peaked in May, June, July last year also, and then they processed the most in July Aug Sep brining the pending load way down. May be they will let the stock build up 250,000 pending and then attack it. OR they might be done with their quota of this year, and will start processing in Sep when their new year starts.
