divina- Yep. That is all I did. I copy and pasted what is found in the LingChe guide and filled in my info :P. You aren't a dummy! Everyone has their own questions about what to do when and how to do it. There is nothing wrong with asking questions. :).

Tom- I can imagine some poor band player whose kazoo is getting stuffed into it  . I always heard "up the wazoo" :P. I agree that the more prepared you are now for the next stage, the less chance you have of "Uhhh...what....did I just read...what is DS3032? Where is mine? Wait....what do I do after that? When do I pay this bill? Wait? AHHHHHH!" That NOA2 is really nice but comes with a memory eraser for some (myself included...those were some crazy times I had  .)

You don't need much luck for a potluck. as long as you invite people who bring yummy foods and not things you don't like to eat, you should be good! What are you bringing? See...this is what we should do! We should have a potluck on Tom's massive land and go kayaking after we all finish! Since I'm taking forever....you all have to wait for me! MUAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I could go for an international potluck with some strangers who I annoyed for months on end :P.

Divina- I just copied and pasted the DS3032 format found in the LingChe guide. No signature was on there and they accepted it just fine. :).

Wazoo, kazoo, yazoo  Okay my bad...

I dont know the name of the dish but its simple. A little like Rice A Rone. The SF treat... It consists of Basmati rice, vermicelli pasta, bell pepper, onion, garlic, chicken stock, butter, oil, bacon, peas and such... Got the recipe from the Food Channel... I will cook it here at the house but will need to warm it up at the camp ground.

What massive land? I only have 1 acre and its mostly grass which I need to go cut... You're all welcome to visit. Lake is about 2 blocks away...

Now what do you mean no signature on the DS 3032? There is a signature at the bottom which should be signed. This is what authorizes the USC to get all the doc's sent to them. Is a simple doc so if you dont have a signature then the person can sign it scan it and email it in from where ever they may live. Some do both email for the other country home and mail it in from the US.

:( Are those with NOA dates of March 11th and 12th on a Do not touch list? They really seem to have skipped over us and I haven't even gotten a touch or anything. Whewwwww I hate going to the USCIS website just to see the same "last activity date" every time. Its like a punch in the mouth each time I go there. I hope they haven't lost the folders with those dates.

I know you must be feeling left out. If you're on email notification be sure to check your spam or junk mail folder just in case the notification goes there. Some people seem to only know when they get it in the mail. Either way hopefully you will know something soon.

Hi Teya Thanks for all the help. I emailed it and got an auto-response. What I'm worried about now is the fact that I haven't gotten an email regarding the DS-3032 and AOS fee bill. I gave my email last friday and according to LinChe, the should've emailed it to me on monday but no luck so far. unsure.gif

Hummm,

Well I have the DS-3032 form completed and signed by my wife. I am hoping that is what I need cause I gave my wife instructions to complete that form which she did and she mailed it to me. Did anyone attach and email the actual form to the USCIS? I understand the BAR code is not required... providing you put your case # on it.

No new NOA2 today. :( I hope later tonight people update their timeline after coming home from work to find their NOA2. That would be sweet.

Dont know what is going on with USCIS. They should be approving cases FAST so that they dont go to the 5 month mark that they have setup. However, it doesn't look like they are worrying too much about it. Come on CSC

John i agree with you. usually when they are this much behind they will take it home on weekends and you get emails from that or they would approve like crazy. the month of march is taking the longest i have ever seen. last year when they approved my k-1 it took them almost 4 months. right now it is taking so long and it is like they are picking and choosing. now last year i know that when i was waiting for the k-1 to be approved. the people from florida with me were waiting also and we all were approved at the same time. we were around the same timelines also. everyone around us was getting approved but us and then all of a sudden in a matter of days we were all approved. but like i said i have never seen them take so long on one month and they are about to hit the 5 months mark on march filers. now that they raised the fees they should be going faster because i am sure they were waiting on that and like i said their year end is september 30th and they like to stay on time with that. so i would expect them to start approving real fast soon.

Got our NVC # finally! 14 days after I-130 approval.

For what it's worth I had to get it from an agent, the automatic system doesn't have it yet. So, beware.

I called NVC and went through the automatic system to hear once more the dreadful response "either you entered the wrong number or we do not have a record for your case yet". Frustrated I called back and asked to talk to an agent.

Surprisingly enough after I gave her my USCIS case # the agent went on to asking me for my wife's name and birthday as well as mine. I gave her the info and she asked me if I wanted to add our email addresses to our case. I said "so, you do have our case then? Because when I called the automatic system it didn't have one". She said "yes, we do, we received your file earlier this week". Given that it's Wednesday it can only have been on yesterday or the day before.

I'm not sure how long it will take for the automatic system to pick up the info but this shows that others waiting for their NVC # might want to try and talk to an agent as well.

I tried to get some additional info from the agent but she was anything but friendly. She said we should receive a package within 2 to 4 weeks! I asked "Really? Can't we get something via email faster?" She said: "you will get it in email, and it may go faster but it may take 2 to 4 weeks". I figured they don't want to set expectations, so I left it at that.

One step closer.

Congrats on the case number! Are all of your papers in order?

Yes, I think so. But since you asked, let me ask a question about that: is there anything other than an IRS transcript of the most recent tax year that is required in support of the I-864, Affidavit of Support?

My reading of the instructions for I-864 tells me that, when the sponsor meets the minimum income requirement, the only supporting document that is required is an IRS transcript of the most recent tax year. Yet, I saw several pages, including LingChen's shortcut, talking about sending IRS tax returns for 3 years, pay stubs, letter of employment, etc.

It seems that in general websites like this one recommend to send a lot more information than what is actually required.

While I understand that it may seem innocuous to send more information "just in case", I would caution against that. Indeed, this is not what lawyers typically recommend because every extra piece of information you provide can be used against you. For instance, I read on LingChe's shortcut the warning about the possibility of generating an RFE just because on one document your job title is "painting" and on another it is "painter". The fewer documents you produce, the less likely this is to happen!

I also read that it was now required to send evidence of bona fide marriage with your I-130. I actually consulted an immigration lawyer before I sent mine in and she made a face: "yuck! don't send any of this now!" :-) I didn't, and evidently my application was approved without it.

So, I think while people should make sure they send the information that is necessary for their application, each case is different and I'm not sure people should systematically send everything "just in case". Because too much information may actually hurt your case too.

My $.02.

That is required for someone whose tax transcript for the 2009 is above the 125% poverty guideline? No.

That is recommended, well you already answered your question. If you just started a new job in 2009 or there is any reason why your case might be a little different...then that is mostly why those other things are recommended. If you choose not to send things in that are extra, that is up to you. While NVC is picky about things that don't match up, they seem to be just as picky about not enough information.

I would rather have it all handed in instead of finding on interview day that I should've done it before and now my loved one can't come here as soon as I had planned. But of course, that is just me. I also tend to think I have not the greatest luck and I'd rather arm myself with every thing I need ahead of time.

There are cases where your way will work just fine and some where it will not. Same goes for the way I will be doing it. Either way, I hope you have a quick journey through NVC without RFE's.
