Does anyone know how long it takes to get the NVC number? I'm sure it's posted a billion times here...I'm just lazy like that :blush:

Ours took exactly 7 calendar days to get the NVC case number from NOA2 date.

USCIS IR1/CR-1 CSC

02-24-2010 - I-130 Sent: February 24th, 2010

06-17-2010 - NOA2

Your I-130 was APPROVED in 107 days from your NOA1 date.

06-24-2010 - NVC Case Number Assigned

08-24-2010 - Sign in Fail - Case COMPLETE in 60 days

10-27-2010 - INTERVIEW Riyadh

11-27-2010 - VISA issued

01-06-2011 - POE JFK

01-27-2011 - Welcome letter

01-28-2011 - Green came via Priority mail

01-06-2011 - GC Issue Date

02-05-2011 - GC Received

02-10-2011 - Applied for SSN at local office

02-19-2011 - SSN Received by mail

10-06-2012 (?) - GC Extend Date

01-06-2013 - GC Expires Date

Mine was 7 days as well. You can always call before then but don't expect to have anything before then. Go ahead and ask as many questions as you need. There is no point of getting an RFE if we cover everyone's bases. Most of the process is pretty straight forward but the wording is weird on some of the questions in both packets.

-Received NVC e-mails (DS3032 and AOS Fee)& paid AOS fee: 6/11/10

-AOS Fee shows as PAID & paid IV Bill: 6/15/10

-Received IV instruction packet: 6/8/10

Indigo, you seem a little all over the place :blush: (posting in here about freaking out over the time lines then posting in the main forum that these months have gone by smooth). Would you like to talk about it? I know this process is frustrating to all of us. Waiting for things to happen that you have no control over is super sucky. At least USCIS seems to be getting a little better at giving us some good news here and there.

Chris&Cecil, I know you asked the question to March2010, but you should've been able to get your case number on the 24th. It should be there waiting for you (unless they have slowed down or something...which I hope is not the case).

Based on my experience, you should have gotten it last week. Why don't you call them?

Thanks Teya :yes:...my husband thought that he needs to wait for NVC to send him email to give him our case number...but as what i've read here in VJsite about the case # that we need to call NVC to get it :P..Anyway its not too late :D..thanks guys

Teya- I just wanted to double check if it is correct that we have to call the NVC once we receive the NOA 2 email? If so what number do we need to call them and how long is the waiting time before they will reply? Can we just email the DS 3032 or NVC has to give us any number which needs to be included in DS 3032? I am so frustrated with my case not been touched since the longest of the times, my NOA 1 was on 5th March 2010. To my knowledge I sent all the relevant papers needed to process the case.

Is it possibe that they not even touch my case and start processing people with NOA 1 DATES after my case?

kapad- Yes, you call the NVC after you get your NOA2 to receive your case number. It usually takes 7 calendar days to get a case number, but you can always try before that if you'd like. You can e-mail the DS3032 to NVC after you have your case number (this is the only special number that they need). You should be coming up soon for your NOA2. Don't give up hope quite yet! Anything seems to be possible with them but for the most part, they seem to be going in order of First in, First Out. Touches don't always mean something special. My case wasn't touched right before I got my approval. I hope you will hear good news this week or next week!

Kapad - I agree with what Teya mentioned. You should be hearing very soon most probably this week. They are working on NOA1 date of March 4th right now based on the recent approvals. So you are next buddy. Just hang in there.

Should find out tomorrow for today's approval. Usually USCIS sends emails at odd hours. So hopefully there will be a few lucky ones today.
