My Fiancee has her K1 interview on March 23rd, 2010 in Guangzhou, China. That is only a little less than 7 days from now.

I sent her:

• Notarized copy of my entire passport
  
• Notarized copy of my birth certificate
  
• I-134 Affidavit of Support
  
• Employment Letter
  
• 6 Months Paystubs
  
• 3 Years 1040 + W2s (2007, 2008, 2009)
  
• Original bank statements for savings, brokerage and 401k accounts
  
• 2 months worth of mortgage statements
  
• 3 months worth of gas/electricity bills
  
• Copy of I-129F
  
• Copy of 325A for each of us
  
• Notorized updated letter of intent to marry her
  
• Notarized Evolution of Relationship (EoR) Letter from me using a timeline-paragraph format
  
• Notarized letter from my dad supporting our relationship
  
• Letter from my sister and mom supporting our relationship
  
• Greeting card to encourage her on interview day
  

She is providing:

• Notorized birth certificate from China Gov't
  
• Notorized police certificate from China Gov't
  
• Notorized single certificate from China Gov't
  
• 1000+ pictures from 3 trips (2 in Beijing, 1 Philadelphia)
  
• Completed medical exam
  
• Completed immunization record (all done as per guidlines)
  
• 3 books of 400 pages each of Skype and QQ logs
  
• Call logs from June 2009 - March 2010 showing about 2000 phone calls between that time
  
• Her EoR letter
  
• Letter (in English) from her sister and brother-in-law supporting our relationship
  

Anything seem like it's missing?

Honestly, everything looks good. Will you be there with her? Cause if not, she is gonna need a truck to carry all that! You will probably end up in the same situation as my fiancee last week....they won't want to see anything that you bring. Did you front load? If you front loaded, you should be fine. No red flags we are not aware of? Good luck, dude, it should be good for you two. Keep us informed.

The only thing I would add -

is INSIDE of the Evolution of Relationship letter -

YOU COVER EXACTLY how you two communicate with each other.

Nah - I'm not talking about emails or chat or telephone - but USE OF LANGUAGE...

Some examples.

MeiMei and I speak to each other in English.

Xue and I talk in Mandarin, almost exclusively.

XiaoFei and I have been learning each others language for the past 10 months - we have been practicing each week to speak in English and Mandarin. We first started with pocket translators, then shifted to language drills, and now we both speak to each other in mixed - some Mandarin, some English. Her written English comprehension has improved since we met. My oral Mandarin skills have improved much each week - I practice with her father on the telephone for an hour, each week. We have always been able to understand each other, regardless of using a translating device or not. Her oral English still needs some improvement, but usually, if I talk slow and repeat only once, for any complex topic, she understands me.

a mortgage is never an asset - it's a liability.

if an I-130, though, ya - and best to have in both names.

Since it's an I-129F, though - no - not at all.

But - somethings amiss, I think. why would you think to supply these? If the 'reasoning' came in from yer lass, after perusing the 001 forum, it's all muddled and confused.

But - if it came in because you recently moved back to USA and had possible domicile issue to overcome, yes, include them. Otherwise, not need, and in fact, might actually hurt her case.

make sure these are the NOTARIAL TRANSLATION sets, usually called a 'white book' because of the fact the documents are bound into a thin A4 sized book, and the cover is white.

The COPY of the chinese document is inside , along with the translated-to-english version, as well as the translators attestation and signature, with any red stamps/seals from 'that' office.

This attestation usually says:

1. the copy inside is copy of the actual document and

2. the translation is accurate.

so - for 'official' purposes - this notice about the copy is what makes 'the copy' inside of the white book 'official' - as it's supposed to be 'the original' or a 'certified copy, certified from the issuing authority'. The translation office that prepared the white book, is rarely the 'issuing authority' - but GUZ IV recognizes the white book as official - certified copy, with certified translation - so all is good if IN white book format.

Echoing what Darnell has said, everyone petitioning a Chinese partner should be aware and communicate clearly to your other-half to be cautious about scammers. There are places that "claim" to be able to produce translations, but they must be certified notarial translations. The proper place can do all three needed at once. This service is not "cheap" so if some place is only charging a couple hundred RMB, then you should be suspicious. We spent around 2000RMB for the notarial office in Chongqing to process these documents.
