This is why the guy cannot run anything but his mouth!

I HOPE they pull of this dumb@ss stunt in congress. After all the health care debacle will no tbegin for four years plenty of time for all the morons that vote for it to be tossed out and whole thing repealed.

If a defense contractor bought votes the way Pelosi and Reid do, someone would be going to prison. I am ashamed at these tactics in THIS country. This is Banana Republic type stuff. Not even the B@lls to stand up and have a vote on a real bill.

Got to disagree with you there. If you can't spot a really bad snafu on the teleprompter and think on your feet to get the correct information out, it definitely speaks to the intelligence and presence of mind of the speaker.

I wouldn't have expected BushBaby to spot it, because I thought he was an idiot. But now President Obama is getting a bad rep for being lost when a teleprompterupf*ck occurs. This country cannot afford to have another public speaking liability as Commander In Chief. Obama needs to up his game, or risk being labeled a joke by more than just those of the opposing party.

Come on now, my furry little friend! You can't expect a groomed politician to have any substance: What would his handlers think?

His handlers are currently thinking "Can we fit in the joke about the Irishman, the Nun and the Badger and get away with it?"

It could the most flawed domestic program ever but it won't be repealed. Know of any examples of major entitlement programs repealed?

It doesn't matter what the law says or does as long as they can point to few success stories, the billions spent will somehow be justified by supporters. The idea of healthcare reform overrides any discussion of the legislation's merits; thus, there's little real discussion about the details because they believe the current system is so bad anything has to be better.

Good point...to a point. Except that for four years it is a TAX prgram, NOT a healthcare program and I think when people understand what has happened, yes, they will want it repealed. I think once the Dems get tossed by the boatload in Nov, anyone left will be afraid NOT to repeal it before it goes into affect

Funny how conservative talk radio hosts are held to a higher standard than our current President.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Focus on the trivial and you'll have trivial government, is that what you want?

Personally, I prefer to focus on things that actually matter. Pre internet-u-tube etc people made mistakes all the time of this nature when speaking publicly and no one remembered or cared, no one focused on the trivial, people focused on what was important, whether the policy was a good one, or a bad one - what aspects of the policy where good or bad - not whether someone said 3,000% instead of $3,000. This is no 'gotcha' moment.

Everyone who makes speeches is prone to making these types of mistakes from time to time and I really don't give a toss about it no matter who the person is, president or insignificant no one. Now, if someone asks for an opinion and the speaker can't come up with something articulate to say about a subject matter that is a completely different kettle of fish - I would be most disgusted if the President couldn't string a sentence together without prompting on subjects relating to government and policy. That is not what this is about though so it's stupid, trivial and irrelevant.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Then you need to go back to Obama's campaign appearance in Mass, the weekend before Scott Brown was elected. If the President of the USA can be rendered unintelligible for approx. 3 minutes because he is unable to put together a coherent response to an opposing opinion, I think that constitutes a problem. Without prompting, Obama is finding public speaking difficult. As I said, he needs to up his game if he is to escape being made fun of by people other than Republicans.

No wonder the Republicans has bad leadership, they're always thinking about the teleprompter.

NB, one day you might remember to engage your brain before letting your fingers prove you're an idiot. I most certainly do not want President Obama to be as ill-equipped as BushBaby, when it comes to public speaking. This country can ill afford another President who is viewed at home and abroad as a public-speaking liability. Such a reputation does this country no favours, when trying to rebuild our standing on the world stage.

According to your statement, a laymen can interpret it as saying that everybody is stupid. Very smart of you.

Edit: And, you're basically saying that people are stupid.

I think that was more a case of an inability to put down a heckler, not a lack of response to reasonable apposing opinion and yes, if one is to regard him as an excellent public speaker he really should have a good way to do that which clearly he did not. I am not one of those who has ever put much faith in his public speaking. I am not particularly fond of his political style either but I am still not interested in trying to attack him based on something so puerile as making a silly mistake.

No, I think I was pretty specific in calling you an idiot for generalising your defence of President Obama as a Republican issue. When BushBaby was in office, most of the world thought he lacked the ability for public speaking by the end.

You also do yourself no favours by opting to intentionally misunderstand what I wrote. I'm not saying that people are stupid, I said in this case that you in particular were being so.

I'm not interested in attacking Obama for his mistakes, just for the sake of getting a dig in at our current President. As the President, Obama needs eliminate these goofs so that what is reported is what his message is, rather than what he actually said (and should have said). If these mistakes are in the content he is reading from, he should have had people proof-reading the material, to catch these oopses. If the mistake is his by misunderstanding the material, he needs to work at avoiding the eye-mouth disconnect.
