I've only stayed in the Stratosphere, but I've been there twice.

It's off season, so you might be able to get really good rooms for pretty cheap.

Check it out.

The budget is the key. Any of the major ones on the strip are nice.

Yup - lots of nice ones (some not-so-nice too of course) but if they can time their trip for any days besides the weekend (Fri/sat) they'll get much better rates (unless a giant convention is in town).

sounds better to go during the middle of the week, is it a hugh jump in price by going on the weekend?

Can i get some hotel experiences and the names of some of these hotels?

HUGE difference in prices(night and day, sometimes triple for the 'good' hotels).

For your budget, you've got lots of choices I'm sure.

I like:

  • The Venetian
  • Paris
  • MGM Grand (the rooms are nice)
  • Luxor (especially if you can get a view and in the pyramid don't be fooled, most of their rooms are not in the pyramid).

The Rio is nice - not on the strip but rooms are great (all suites I believe).

All great recommendations and a great hint on the Luxor. The Stratosphere is a great place to visit but a little to far down on one end. Use the Deuce Bus and get an all day ticket to ride up and down the strip.

New York is another good hotel

Excaliber is a bit old inside now but not bad.

We've stayed at New York New York, very nice, close to a lot of other big resorts on the strip. We've also stayed at Circus Circus, which bills itself as the cheapest place on the strip. It's well past its prime, but cheap and comfortable, not luxurious or impressive.

We just recently got back from Las Vegas & we stayed at New York New York Mon-Fri for $47 per night. Great location opposite the MGM & not far from the new Aria hotel, which we priced up at $145 per night so well within your budget. If you can afford it stay there, it's absolutely beautiful. The Bellagio was even cheaper than that @ $117 per night. Prices are very competitve mid week.

I LOVE Ceasars as the location is really GREAT and in the middle of everything... Venitian is the bomb if they have rooms for under $200... Grab them as they are great Suites!!! MGM has nice rooms but is a MASSIVE hotel and takes forever to walk around... And the Wynn is super lux and nice!

Find a good deal (Expedia.com and Travelocity.com have them) on a package! We stayed at the Monte Carlo and got free Cirque Du Soleil tickets.

The Monte Carlo was nice for the room, and was convenient for a cheap breakfast or lunch with the food court inside. Also centrally located, easy access to the major hotels. We got married inside the Las Vegas Hilton, which was also really nice. I've stayed at the Excalibur, but it's best for people traveling with children IMO.

The Paris was probably our favorite inside, but we did not see the rooms. Probably where I'll stay next time if we get a good rate. Either way, look and book a package if you can. You shouldn't do Vegas without a great show!
