Here is a reason to own a gun

You want me to believe that your owning a gun is equivalent to storm roofing.

Why that and not a fallout shelter?

Why not a set of biohazard suits for you and your family?

Do you insulate yourself against all threats or just Cherry pick the ones that allow you to say that owning a gun for self-defense is not paranoia but "preparation"?

What a lie, you smoke, that's far more likely to kill you than a mad stranger with a gun so either you can't work out reasonable risk or giving up smoking is more expensive than I ever imagined.

Obviously there are problems with current law because people are regularly killed and injured by legally owned guns. How you work out that I don't want anyone owning a gun when I have clearly said, several times that there are very good reasons to own guns is baffling.

did it ever occur to you that maybe enforcement of the current laws would be a good start rather than adding to the laws? i'm all for sharing of information across state lines of those deemed mentally ill so they can't go to another state and buy.

I can't help what other people think I think, I'm only able to control what I think and I do not want to see you dead, not from smoking, not from anything else. I hope when you die it is peacefully from completely natural causes and only after you have reached a ripe old age.

So perhaps you should allow for some legislation so that 'people like me' can't get their hands on one? Or, do you advocate that 'people that are dangerous when they have a gun' should simply be allowed to run around with one anyway? All in the name of what? Civil liberties? Personal safety
