Writing Case Number on the docs...Please advice

Hi Guys..

I believe we have to mention our case number in each documents we are sending along with AOS and DS230 right...I have a doubt in this...Should we write our case number even in the original supporting documents like PCCs, Birth Certificate's and Marriage Certificate's....If that's a case, we need to write in Pencil or in Pen...which form u guys followed...

Please advice on this....

Well - you can certainly write in pencil but most folks aren't submitting originals unless specifically asked for them (they send copies, which you can write on). Otherwise, I don't see a problem with using pencil - the whole purpose of doing so is to make it harder for them to misplace your 'stuff.'

Thanks for the reply....Its been mentioned that we have to send the Originals or Certified Civil documents along with the copies of the same....They will review it and give it back to us at the time of Interview....Ya, we will use pencil to write the case number..

or you can use a post-it note on originals too.

I used a black pen and wrote our case #'s on our Marriage Certificate, my wife's Birth certificate and Police clearance. I was going to use a post it note, but I have fears that they may misplace or lose the post it notes as well upon sorting out those papers. Obtaining these documents are not very hard anyway, so Im not worried about the original documents being vandalized a bit
