Hi guys

My husband and I are about to send in our AOS. I was just going over the paperwork again and have a question about the Affidavit of Support. Even though his income is more than 125% of the poverty line, we were going to include our joint bank account balance also, as further evidence of support. Can I also include my Australian bank account balance? We are in the process of transferring money into our joint account, but need to get the AOS submitted before the transfers will all be completed.

I understand including the assets details are only necessary if you are not above the poverty line cut off, but could it hurt to include this information anyway?

Thanks for your thoughts :D

I had the same question and finally decided not to include it just because it says not to if you are above the poverty line, and I did not want to confuse them by adding extraneous information...all they want is to make sure you are at or above poverty so if you meet that, doesn't seem like they should really care about any of your other money. Instead I made sure to include all our income tax info (tax transcripts for last 3 years). we just sent it in this morning.

Including the joint bank account cannot hurt. The foreign funds won't matter as they can't be easily gotten at in the event that they were needed to satisfy a claim. They tend to want to see US based assets.

Based on what you've said about being above the required income you should be ok.

I wouldn't worry about it, Alex makes more than the 125 percent and we didn't include any assets. If you get an interview, you can always show it then.
