One bright spot, I think.

You will always have a greater appreciation for having him with you, moreso I think than "normal" couples. I appreciate every second I have with my husband, and I never want to be apart from him again. It's something I know I wouldn't fully appreciate had we not been separated.

Hang in there! :)

Time goes by whether you are having fun or not, recall those days strongly, and the years that went by when I still couldn't believe my wife was here. But don't think about that as much as I did, especially with that big smile I get from her every morning.

We promised we would never let 3 months go by with me either going to Venezuela or her coming here, but was a God awful long three months in between.

So why am I still here on this board? Still not done with the USCIS yet, daughter is due to get her USC soon, and we been trying for years to bring my wife's son here.

Too bad the USCIS doesn't place more emphasis on family rather than whatever precautions they take to make sure we are not committing fraud or national security, or whatever the hell their reasons are. But sure know how to make you wait.

One thing they haven't been able to do, discourage us so we would break up our relationship during that long long process.

+1

I think some (not all) people in "normal" relationships take for granted they get to see each other whenever they want. Whereas people in long-distance relationships appreciate every moment they have with each other & I think that builds a strong connection.

Just got off the phone with him.

He sounds like he is doing alright; knowing that makes it easier for me.

I know it does not make sense to be sad and all that but it is just so terribly hard :( I hate falling asleep without him, I hate not having him here to hold me when I am sad and to laugh with me, tease me, love me.

I am so jealous of everybody who has a "normal" relationship.

Some of you are already done with their visa-journey...do you sometimes miss the days of your long-distance-relationship?

 ME TOO. Hang in there. Rest easy knowing you are not alone and what God creats, let no man divide!

NO! Looking back, it's hard to believe we went months without seeing each other. We spent 3.5 years doing long distance, and I'm so happy never having to feel those heart-wrenching goodbyes again. I went to England for a visit last month and he practically had to peel me off him, I was in tears.

Believe me, it's all worth the pain you go through. :)
