Time frame for Moscow to send out packets?

How long did it take for Moscow to send out the packets to your SO's? I got an email from them a week ago saying they had our petition and have scheduled an interview, but we haven't seen the packet yet.

11/13/2009 -- Mailed I-129F

11/17/2009 -- Received NOA 1

02/10/2010 -- NOA 2 Mailed

02/16/2010 -- NOA 2 Received (via email)

02/19/2010 -- Petition forwarded to Moscow

04/23/2010 -- Scheduled Interview - SUCCESS

07/20/2010 -- Entrance to USA POE Anchorage

08/21/2010 -- Wedding

11/04/2010 -- Mailed AOS

01/25/2011 -- AOS Interview - SUCCESS

How long did it take for Moscow to send out the packets to your SO's? I got an email from them a week ago saying they had our petition and have scheduled an interview, but we haven't seen the packet yet.

It takes more than 1 week. I can't remember exactly when my wife got her packet, but I think it was at least 2 weeks after Moscow received her case.

And sometimes the packet never arrives. Not a problem as everything that is necessary is listed on their website. She should review that info and start getting ready.

I second this. I don't remember Marina ever getting the packet, but you really don't need it. Just look on the website and prepare everything on the list. You can also find your interview date on the website (or was that in the email, I don't remember).

Ok, I'll just have her go with the info on the website then.

As for the interview date, you're supposed to be able to get it on the website, but that feature is down right now.

I second the opinion that no packet from embassy is needed. So, do not worry about it. They will have her name on the list at the interview date and that is all that needed for her to get in and have her visa interview.

How long did it get from NVC sending your package to the embassy (or DOS) confirming they got it? NVC claimes they sent our documents on 3/4/2010, but as of today DOS says that embassy did not get the papers yet. I start to worry again.

Did you call DOS at all?

The embassy does not answer my emails and DOS says they do not see anyone to touch our case in Moscow still.

It took Moscow about a week to get back with me. Someone else with a similar timeline to my own got about the same turn around time from them as well.

I never contacted the DOS.

Good thread .... I have been watching this like a hawk ! I'm still waiting for the packet to arrive at NVC and then on to Moscow !

For all those who have gone before and especially AKguy as you are almost there ..... how did you handle the I-134 ? Thought I read on the website that it was not needed ... and then it was and it had to be notarized ?? ....... and in particular if it is needed ... question #11

They say it's not needed, but I sent it alone anyway since they also said they MIGHT ask for it.

Question 11 I'd seen answered both ways. I checked I would support with room and board.

I did not have it notarized.

When did you email the Embassy?

Mid last week. Couple days after a package with reference number EXP MAR 04 2010A that I traced on DHL site was delivered. That package was delivered on Mar 9. What I'd be interested to know is the time from NVC claims it sent the package till somebody in Moscow touches it (DOS should see it in their system).

I wouldn't get too excited just yet. Give them until around Thursday or Friday to get back with you. That DHL bill could or could not include your petition. I'm sure they'll get back to you. :)

Sometimes I think that we should not have to build the LHC. Black holes are all around us :) with highest density around government agencies. Our petitions fall into one of these black holes and it is total mystery what happens there because no information can get out. On the other hand, while some observers will see that the case fell thru the event horizon, for some, the case will approach the event horizon forever and will never fall thru it! A black hole in its pure definition. Just like in the center of our galaxy :)
