Hebrew Charter School - legitimate use of taxpayer money?

This thread reminds of one the hot topics a few weeks ago.

There was an American woman who visited her husband in Pakistan for his CR-1 interview. She got pregnant there. She posted a topic to ask how she could possibly give birth in the U.S. when she doesn't have a stable job and she has no insurance.

One of the replies was, "Stay in Pakistan. I don't want you here. People like you waste my money. I don't like to be paying for your kid."

I am trying to learn politics and current events in the U.S.

American history is taught in Philippine schools. We don't have charter schools there. What we have are the standard public schools [for grade school and high school] that replace their textbooks every after 5 to 10 years and two or three students must share one book in most cases. State universities and colleges are a little better though.

This is what cracks me up about the classroom-size fetish sponsored by teachers unions around the country. I had most of my later years of schooling in India, my class sizes were quite large and yet I learned so much more there than I did here. The fetish over classroom-size is just a way for teacher unions to justify more teacher positions.

Are you sure He understands your Hebrew? We have conversations all the time. He is bored, did you know? Everybody is always asking Him for stuff. Tell him a joke, or two, once in a while. He does have a warped sense of humor, and cheats at solitaire.

Jesus preached Personal responsibility in aiding the poor, not forcing others to take on the burden Christians should have.

Did the Good Samaritan, when he helped the man in need even ask the inn keeper for a discount on the food or price of the room?

I disagree, if Steve knows of reasonable quotes where "Jesus preached" something, clear enough for him to take a stand on it... I would like to see those quotes, he obviously feels so strong about it he made it a Signature pic.... one would think he could produce something, no?
