One of the things it says you can to show evidence of a bonafide marriage is have family or friends write affidavits of support having sworn knowledge of the marriage. If they write a letter, should they hand write them to show it in their own writing so it looks more real or would typing the letter be okay and having that person sign it? I want the letters to look real and not have someone feel like it was all one person typing them and getting other people to just sign the affidavit.

Thank you

Hi,

Do you have other things, like pictures and tickets, hotel receipts and so on? If you do, don't worry about the letter. I don't think a lot of people use letters as a proof of their bonafide marriage, at least not what I've seen here on VJ...(OK some people do, but most skip that part.)

I have plenty of tickets from previous travels but not from the recent one. I have lots of wedding pictures, proof of existing banking relationship together, and I think I can possibly find a receipt for when we registered the marriage license at service new brunswick but I want to provide as much proof as possible so I want to have a few letters written. I don't have her on my lease or anything yet as, of course, no social for Canadians so I have to find ways to show as much proof as possibe. No hotel receipts cause the hotel for us on our wedding night was paid for by family and we never saw it. Anything that I'm missing? Plus my original question wasn't answered either :P

I'm one of the few people who will be doing the affadavit route at first, with likely a few pictures too. Anyway, I believe there is a letter template somewhere in the guides which I am using. I'll be asking my people to get it notarized, so there is proof of signature.

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

We used affidavits with our I-130 submission last year. That was all we sent in (aside from the required marriage certificate of course :) ) I saved all other proof (emails, telephone records, photos etc. for the interview, none of which they looked at btw in Montreal.)

Our affidavits were typed then signed in front of a notary. We submitted three in total from family and friends that were at our wedding and had know us and of our relationship for periods ranging from 3 -10 years. Ours were very similar to the templates on VJ .
