Thankfully our packet has arrived @ fiance's home country and we have interview soon, what are some of the typical questions and of course some of the most unique questions you've heard consulars ask. I know every country s different but we dont want to take any chances. Please help in any way you can..thanks much and God bless

I was asked what I had studied in the US, what my fiance did for a living, where I had lived with him, when the wedding was meant to be, did my parents like him. From what I take it, they ask you questions related to your file. If either you have been married previously, if you have children, they will ask about that. In the guides, there is a list of questions that people have been asked, have a look at them to get an idea.

some questions could be:

How long do you know your fiance?

How did you meet?

Have you ever been to the US?

When is the last time you have seen your fiance?

When will you leave for the US?

When did we meet in person?

Good Luck!

The replies above suggest some general questions, but it is very important (perhaps crucial) that people read the Reviews and the Embassy Info for their specific embassy/consulate, paying attention to the very worst horror stories. It is only in this way that one can be truly alerted to the full range of what might be expected.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My fiancé had his interview today in Ghana. They asked him when we met, when I came back to visit, where I work, what I do for my job. I'd have to agree they ask specific questions for each relationship. They probably mix it up to keep people on their toes. The lady did try to trip my fiancé up when he didn't have a copy of his birth certificate. She said he needed it and he was prepared with secondary information that the instructions said was adequate. She tried to tell him no he needed the birth certificate and he showed her where it said the school information was acceptable. We were prepared with EVERYTHING, they took what they wanted (the forms he filled out and the forms that I filled out) and gave him everything else back (pictures, skype log, emails, phone records etc.). He was APPROVED and asked to come back April 15th to get his visa

5/7/09 - mailed I-129F submission

5/11/09 - tracking confirmation delivered

5/15/09 - NOA1 date

5/20/09 - check cashed

5/23/09 - received hard copy of NOA1

8/24/09 - NOA2 approved - received via email

8/29/09 - NOA2 hard copy received

8/31/09 - NVC received

9/2/09 - NVC sent to Embassy

10/7/09 - Fiance went to Embassy to pick up packet

10/7/09 - interview date scheduled for 12/14/09

12/14/09 - Chuks didn't go to the interview

12/30/09 - went to embassy and scheduled another for 3/15/10

OMG Congrats Nickey...that was real smart of him, no disrespect to other applicants here but i think alot of times some applicants are intimidated by the consulars and thus end up tripping all over themselves even before they have a chance to be interviewed, then again, i havent experienced it personally so it all hypothetical. But When you say everythg, can you please break it down for me. And finally, when u got the NVC notification, how long did it take to get them to call him for the pick up and how long was the pick up date from the interview date. Did he initiate the contact or the embassy did to get in touch with him when the packet got there...i here :dance: dancing for u guys..Congrats again
