My fiance and I are looking ahead of time. In actuality I'm looking at moving to the USA in early June, wedding is 31st July(!) and we'd have until August 4th to adjust my status. So maybe starting to look ahead isn't such a bad idea...

I'm looking at the i-485 and have seen what I'd need, however question 15 a) is really, really vague.

My current soon-to-be-former job is with VT Group (Support Services). I work on a military establishment as a civilian HR Administrator. I am a civilian and I have had no military training, however 15 (a) asks: Have you EVER served in, been a member of, assisted in, or participated in any military unit, paramilitary unit, police unit, self-defense unit, vigilante unit, rebel group, guerrilla group, militia or insurgent organisation.

I have assisted in a military unit, essentially, as a civilian support staff member. I've provided about a half page statement saying what the company did, what I did and what the unit was about and how I fit into the general structure.

Do you think there would be any problem with that? I'm not an ex-vigilante.

Would my answer of 'yes' to that question, be accurate having never been a member of the UK Armed Forces but having a position in a unit?

It feels very vague to me.
