Hi everyone,

After much waiting, my husband and I noticed an update to our I-130 Petition on the USCIS site.

Our case was filed on 12/7/09, and had been touched 12/28/09.

It wasn't touched again until 3/8/10! and then the following day, 3/9/10!

We were so happy and excited, I almost cried. We were so hopeful that they would continue to review our petition until they were complete with a decision. But it is now 3/13/10, and the date on our USCIS page has not changed. There is no activity with our case.

Has our binder gone back into the pile? From anyone's experience, how many touches until a NOA2?

- 12/7/09 - Filed - NOA1

- 12/28/09 - 1st Touch

- 3/08/10 - 2nd Touch

- 3/10/10 - 3rd Touch

and now nothing, ugh.. so frustrating.. any advise?

Thanks

- One wife missing her husband like crazy

Thank you everybody for the support. I hope that we receive our NOA2 next wk. I keep looking in my mailbox, even on Sundays, crazy right! - I don't have text message and I heard the email notifications sometimes do not work, so I am hopeful to receive something soon, it is just a waiting game that I'm not wanting to play right now.. :( -

The Days seem like they drag on forever... what to do

Meeting with my local office on friday, 3/19, to see if they have any additional information since the USCIS 1-800 number customer service, asks you tons of questions and gives you "that is all we know" answers. so hoping the local office can provide some sense of clarity.

Thanks everyone

Our timeline is almost identical to your timeline, but the only difference is there has been only single touch (for NOA1 letter) and after that there hasn't been any touch.

I pass each and every day looking like crazy on USCIS site, mailbox, email(s) and text messages just to make sure that I haven't missed the NOA2 letter.

Its very hard to be this far away from each other for me and my wife, but our love and faith is only thing which keeps our hopes and spirits high.

All the very best to you and me.

Cheers.

Touches *do not* mean that you are in for an approval. Touches simply mean that your file was scanned into the USCIS system for various reasons: someone working on it, it being moved, when it was first accepted.

There are many on VJ who didn't have a single touch prior to being approved.

Mal,

No need to state the obvious, My Husband and I already are aware of everything there is to know about what a "touch" represents.

We're here on VJ, like everyone else, to receive hope and continued positive feedback on specific questions that we have.

Although facts are good to learn, I did not ask what you had given.

and while I know that each case is different, it is a comfort to know that there might be timelines out there that have similar patterns as mine.

There is no need to crush the spirit with your technicalities... with that said, i will still wish you good luck with your specific journey

****Everyone -

****If anyone else is out there reading this forum, that has a timeline showing 2 touches prior to receiving a NOA2, please reply to my post.

I would love to learn more about your specific journey and create an environment for us to all come to that will help us all wait during this part of the process.

Thanks again to everyone who has responded and given both my Husband and I continued faith during this waiting period.

My post wasn't necessarily directed at *you*. Yes, it is nice to have hope and faith during this journey, however, it isn't good to put false hopes into things that don't really mean much.

Well, we waited until our petitions were over 5 months old without a touch. I contacted my Congresswoman, and within a couple of days our petitions were touched, the next day, they were touched again. The second touch was approval - that was 10 days ago - we're at NVC now. I don't know if that helps at all, but it seems that the second touch is usually, but not always, approval.

I'm on a similar timeline as the OP. I filed at the end of December, and after the NOA1, got our first touch in March. Actually between March 11 and March 15, we got touched twice as well as a I-797C NOA letter. However I'm wondering to those that got approval of their I-130, did you receive something that said you were approved???

The NOA that I reeived today in the mail says that our case was transferred to my local USCIS office and that I am now waiting to be scheduled for an interview. The online status says that we are in the Testing & Interview stage. Does that mean the I-130 was approved?
