you need to read the reviews and uscis guidelines on what the medical is..i'ts not a real medical. they just want to make sure you dont have any communicable diseses etc.

hate to say this to ya but alot of your questions are easily answered by looking at most of the posts on the forums btw. some ppl get easily offended at repeating the same stuff lol

it's a lot faster to just ask the question. There's a lot of reviews to read and sometimes the review postings are similar but not direct.

How many times has it been asked about visiting, bringing a vehicle, EI questions and many

more. It's common to ask the same question, this is all a new experience for people.

IWhen I first started here I asked many questions which no doubt were answered previously.

When I had my medical it was definately a real medical not just an in the office and out.I was thoroughly checked before my x-ray and bloodwork.

To the original poster ask all the questions you wish. I'm sure you'll get a reply no matter how often it may have been previously asked and answered

I did not mean to sound crabby when i wrote that  I apologize if it came off that way. Most of you know i'm not the crabby type lol.

i just see alot of simple questions being asked that are easily asnswered, or the same questions over and over again like the "can i marry on a tourist visa and stay" etc etc. lately.

i browse more than just the Canada forum and K1 forum, and i see ppl who have valid concerns not getting answers and it just doens't seem right ya know? kinda like our montreal consualte answering a simple request about a postal code and yet not answering the many questions of more importance that alot of us have sent.

i'm also an avid fan of research. IF it weren't for that, I would not be about to get my visa and my lawerer would still be employed and i would have a huge bill with him due to his many errors.

I'll try and make sure i have more than one coffee in the future when i go to reply to a post.

... well, people are free to skip the simple questions that are easily answered and focus on more important and valid questions.

Maybe those important questions go unanswered because people dont know the answer, not because they are busy answering simple ones?

I also like to do my own research, but as it has been said, the search engine in VJ isnt that great.

In the case of this particular question, obviously, judging from the answers, experience varied a lot from person to person, and now the OP will have a chance to be prepared, whatever happens at the medical.

Here's a fun tip. "Forget" to bring the glasses. Most charts the 20/20 for DVA (distance) is TZVECL, 20/25 APEOTF, 20/20 for NVA (upclose) P3SEAR, 20/30 VJFXGH :P..just kidding don't cheat an eye test. Its really just the communicable diseases that they're worried about. Not being able to see is more of a personal hazard. But when you can you should get that rx filled to save from the headaches and constantly having to trick your eyes.

Hold what you got and maintain.

Has he tried Walmart at all? In AB, you can get a free yearly eye exam as long as you're 18 and under. It's covered by healthcare, so -maybe- it's the same in BC. It's worth looking into. =) G'luck dear.

You don't sound crabby really, you just sound like someone who has been reading VJ for a while

I have pondered this and technically VJ could just post a list of FAQs and have the WIKI and there might be only, what, 2-4 questions posted per day, or maybe a few more that are consulate specific. If everyone searched the answer to everything, the answers are pretty much all here.

However! The result would be, no VJ, instead of posting in this thread we would just be updating the Wiki and FAQ section and VJ would not get the traffic it does now and no one would be posting and - well you get the picture :)

That said, it's really helpful if people add information to the Canada Wiki page, a bit on the medical, including the eye test would be great!

It may just be me, but helping people by answering questions can bring a little joy to my day. Thinking that you've helped someone out and eased their stress and anxiety just a little big is pretty great! I'm thankful for all the people that answered my ridiculous questions when I was going through the process, so I'd like to think that I give back and keep the circle of VJ life going

There are some questions that can be easily answered by reading the guides a bit. The one question that seems to bother me sometimes is the: "I'm engaged to a (insert foreign citizenship here) how do I get him/her to the US? Can she just come here and stay?" But questions like this? I don't mind answering this at all. This is one of those questions that can best be answered by describing personal experiences, not by reading a guide that says, "Montreal and Vancouver do vision tests. The end."

I completely agree with you. :) Ive gotten so much from VJ that it makes me happy if I can help people however I can.

The posts that annoy me are the "Got my NOA2! Now what?" lol
