How do you call 800 # Cust Service if in Canada?

I tried dialing the 800-375-5283 and a recording says "you can't dial this type of number". (sorry kids I'm new here) is there a way to call the service center from Canada?

No, unfortunately there is no valid toll free number to call in Canada. There is a 900 number that you can use to access the Consulate, but the 800 numbers only work from the US. Have your US spouse call from within the US, if that is an option.

I posted to soon, ha ha. I called that number Canuck, and it is only automated. They won't let me give them a change of address. The change of address form is only for "alien"

Shoot, do I have to drive to Port huron to call the 800 and give them the addy? Cuz I'm going to be in Sarnia in 11 days at a family function OH #######, that party is on a Sunday.

Is there someone in the US that can call the 1-800 for you to find out what you should do? Alternatively, can you call or email Montreal/Vancouver (didn't look at your profile first to see where you'd be) to see if they can help you?

Well our case is at NVC and I called them, they told me to email them with a request to make my address the same as our "agents" address while I'm in canada. I don't want to find out too late that I blew a rule by not giving USDOJ my current addy!! ack.

I also wonder if it is just my phone. I use a calling card, so my Bell Ca phone line doesn't have long distance on it. Maybe that could be blocking the use of an 800#?

I don't think it's your phone, I think the 1-800 only works from the USA.
