My husband's (who is a resident of the Philippines) I-130 petition which was filed at the US embassy in Manila was approved in January 2010. He received the notice of approval middle of February and it says there that the embassy will contact the beneficiary (that's me). It has been a month since he received the notice but until now, i have not received a word from the embassy. Is there anyone out there in a similar situaton? What should I do? Should i call the embassy? If so, what number? I hope somebody can help. Thanks.

The OP is filing via DCF so there is no trip to the NVC nor EAC/WAC number. In this case, a call to Manila is a must. Good luck! :star:

we too have filed and are still waiting our I-130 approval, after several e-mails and phone calls what i have word is ... there is a staff turnover in process at the embassy, new chief, new reps new AO,s it will be slow going for a while. They are sending out standard reply's like the one we recieved as well as some other VJ ers that state pretty much word for word... " The petition is still pending whle waiting for the results of the records checks." all we can do is wait... and wait...and you guessed it .... wait :protest:

When you submit your I-130 at the US embassy in Manila that means the embassy will adjudicate it there. Your application is out of the normal loop process that is in affect for 130 forms submitted in the USA. You should call the Manila Embassy once a week to check status. From your cell phone within the Philippines dial 00632-301-2000 then at voice prompt to enter the extension number, enter 7 on your cell phone, then 2224# to be connected to the i-130 status desk. Give them the last name of the recipient or your case number. They will look it up on their computer terminal and tell you the status and next step to do if they are waiting for a response from you. Be sure you have 300P load and that your phone is plugged into it's charger to provide max power for clear and distortion free conversation.
