Ok, I am a bit confused with i-693. He had his medical less than a year in fact in Dec. in Mex. They gave him a shot record card but he had not shots done there and has no proof of any being done. Does he need to just go get shots done and if so how do we know what shots have to be done and where we can get them done at? Any Help to explain this will hwlp me a lot thanks in advance.

Go to a USCIS designated civil surgeon and they will inform him what shots to get.

We got an RFE for our medical too. We did not go to a civil surgeon though, we just resent that sheet with the shot record that we got from his medical in Morocco. If he didn't have any shots for his K-1 interview process, it would probably be a safe assumption that he will be needing some. It has to be a civil surgeon that signs the I-693, that's about all I know on the subject...

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

Hi Lisa&Edesio,

I'm facing the same issue, we called to our local health department and requested the vaccines according to my age.

After explain to them why I needed those shoots the nurse told me that for immigration purposes I have to take the TB skin test too ... which came positive since I got BCG vaccine as a child in Mexico.

They told me that just needed MMR and Tdap shoots, now I'm going to make the appointment with the Dr. so he can fill I-693 with my immunization record, TB skin test and another blood test.

Here is the CS look up: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV

Here's the immunisation list: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5901-Immunization.pdf page 2. Please not the YELLOW ones are required, the purple ones are only required if you have risk factors.

You will not need a new medical OR a TB skin test. Some CS's tend to be confused about that but as it's part of the medical, and we are not required to have a new medical, it does not apply to us. This is confirmed by several people recently that didn't have the skin test and were fine.

It is cheaper to have the required shots at the Health Department if possible. You must then take evidence of those shots to the CS who will transcribe them into the I-693. Some people see the CS to see what shots they need, go to the health department and then go back to the CS BUT not all CS's will allow that because they of course want your money.
