Taken from the U.S. Embassy of Tokyo I-130 checklist website:

Proof of Relationship: If you have been married less than two years, please provide a detailed description of how you met and how the relationship developed, as well as evidence of an on-going relationship...

Are they looking for an essay here? Some kind of timeline? We just got married this past Tuesday and our interview is at the end of the month, so we need to do this. Does anyone have an example of what a "detailed description of how you met and how the relationship developed" looks like? Thanks!

We didn't do DCF, but I'm sure the explanation of how you met requirement is the same.

It can just be in paragraph form, just like you were telling a story.

Example:

"We met in Paris, France on January 27, 2003 while I was on vacation and my husband was studying at school. We met at Regale Restaurant and spent the evening together with my friend Amy and his friend John. We agreed to meet again the next day for some sight-seeing and lunch. We spent every day together after that until I left to return home.

After my return home, we spoke on the telephone every week at least 3 or 4 times and emailed each other several times every day. Etc, etc, etc."

Just tell your story with as many details as you can, and don't worry that it sounds like a prize winning novel or anything. Just the facts are important. A page should be sufficient.

Good luck.
