Ok so here i am again my wife has been here 1 year and we are just now getting to the adjustment of status for her and her daughter....money was the biggest road block... i am a union contractor and have long off periods and plus the addition of our new baby just made it hard to save...we have the money for their adjustment now however i am in another lay off period...my questions are do i put myself down as self employed even tho all the contractors take out taxes or do i list the union as an employer..and no i dont receive paychecks from them just benefits...as far as income i earned 42k last yr including unemployment payments, 37k without the benefits, everything i read says you are not required to send in employment verification, letter, job position ,etc.. just income.. but the other info can be helpful it only asks for tax returns w2's can i file with just that info any help would be appreciated
