visa not ready

My fiance went to the consulate as instructed to pick up his visa and unable to pick up after 6hrs of long wait. They did not have his packet together. They were asking ridiculous questions like, Oh did you submit your police report. Evidently they have misplaced it and has delayed him picking up his visa since he was approved February 16th. Today is March 12th you will think they will have everything ready for him.... Very unhappy with them at this point. Very disorganized and ineffecient. The sad thing is they are so non chalant about the whole situation.

I am so glad i did not purchase his ticket.

OMG, but why am I not surprised it is Ghana. I mean they have a nine month wait just through the NVC which is crazy. I am sorry. That sucks, so what did they say? Did they tell him to come back or what? You must be going crazy, it is like a slap in the face.

Long time!! Wow I can believe that since February your fiancee has not picked up his visa by now. Whats up with that? Well Im not surprised and your not the only one. My fiancee was supposed to pick up his visa March 2nd. They said it wasnt ready and that he should pick it March 5. He went there that Friday and can you believe it still wasnt ready? Well he waited and waited and by the time he went back the place was closed. So long story short he picked up the visa March 8. Hopefully he should be here first week in April. With all that we went through, now they want to delay delay us. Not fair :angry::angry::angry::angry: I will be waiting to hear good news on Monday. Take care girlfriend.

There seems to be a trend with Ghana at the moment. They are having people come back in a month to pick up visas. I was shcoked to hear this because I think the turn around use to be about 2 weeks at most. I am not sure what the true hold up is...but they are a little bit slower...than before.

I think if i am not mistaken the turn around time is 4 wks now. From the trend i have been noticing.

Its a shame. But anyway the good thing he has been approved so we will keep waiting until he gets it.

What makes me so upset is that wasting of the time.

Hi Nwanyioma,

I am so happy for you, your honey had to go there 3 times to get it finally. It is so wrong, the way these consulates treat beneficiaries. Just so non chalant. Oh well what i can i say. I am waiting for him to get here i am going to file a grievance and to request the consulates to treat people with alittle respect and dignity. Our taxes we pay in this country pay the agents at the consulates and we have the right to complain i guess. I am not upset because he wasn't able to pick it up but at least they could have called him and advised him not to show up because it wasn't ready. Wasted his all day at the consulate for nothing. Just sickening!

He will not hear from them on Monday. I will be shocked if he does here from them. We are yet to find out,. I think they will let him go on Friday finally and get it.

Enjoy you hubby when he gets here. You have been through alot.
