I can see why this is rude and socially unacceptable, but it's illegal too?

Morality changes over time, I hate to tell you this.

Morality is nothing more than what overall society 'currently' considers acceptable or not acceptable.

Don't forget, society once considered segregation to be 'moral' and the right thing....

You are wrong. Morality is the code that you set up for yourself to live by as a set of rules of what you consider acceptable or not in social interaction. Society has laws, not morality.

Interesting. I guess those human cultures that did not share our inhibitions about human nudity weren't human at all. Maybe they were alien.

They hadn't eaten the apple yet. Nudity is not scary, except when you are not fit and toned, then it's a bit scary ;)

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Morality is not something only others try to push on us.Yes we are instinctly animals too but we are very HUMAN too and that is why we instinctly want to cover our nakedness even when the whether is good(generally) Murder bothers most of us as well as infidelity, child pornography etc.

Prostitution has always been here and it has also been always wrong. The issue for me here is that if Prostitution is legalised, then how far are we ready to go as lots of other moral issues still stand out there waiting and hoping to be accepted. you accept one, you may as well accept all!

We are taught from the day we are born to cover our nakedness....

There are plenty of people out there who have no problem with nude beaches, nudist colonies, etc..

Society and people's own morality/shyness over time have dictated the clothing necessity. Instinct has nothing to do with it, except when we're trying to find ways to be warm.

Prostitution is a matter of personal opinion. I don't see how one can advocate abortion and not advocate prostitution to be honest. It's a "choice" factor. It's the same with drugs... Who the hell are YOU to tell me what I can/cannot do to my body if I'm within the privacy of my own home or not out on the streets making a jack #### of myself interfering with others...

Society has laws (that change from time to time) that are based on morality though and nothing more. Some of it is just pure silliness.

That actually started when Adam and Eve ate a fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. :P

Very few laws are based simply on morality, in fact I can only think of one off hand. Most have a very easily seen practical aspect that is totally devoid of any notion of morality, although people do get more hung up on that than considering how they are essentially pragmatic.

You say that only because today we associate nude people with sex.

Naked bodies can be beautiful without being sexual but they can also be not so lovely as well.

And I could agree with UNREGULATED prostitution being illegal as it is too easy to pass diseases around with unprotected sex. However, regulated and taxed...seems simple to me.

As can all things. Sometimes there is beauty and sometimes there is not. It is simply the nature of things.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Exactly. Of course, the libertarians aren't going to like that.

Indeed. I do not believe that when we are babies we are embarrassed by being naked. It's a learned behaviour. Partly, it is a self esteem issue. We can change our clothes to make statements about ourselves, there is little we can do to change our bodies if they are less than the societal perfect. Teens find that very hard to come to terms with, although adults mostly can.

No, we don't. It's definitely something a Judeo-Christian society forced on us.

It's in the first book of the Bible, for crying out loud - Adam and Eve, aware of

their nakedness, covering themselves with fig leaves to hide from the sight of God?

Ring any bells?

Prostitution has always been here and it has also been always wrong.

Prostitution is no more "wrong" than marriage - both are economic transactions in which

a man obtains exclusive sexual access to a woman in exchange for some kind of benefit.

you accept one, you may as well accept all!

Really? Is that what you're going with?

Hell, I know plenty of people who have had to break their kids of the habit of taking off their clothes and running around naked....

Yes, but then we ALL know...children are just evil beings, spawned from the devil...well at least until they are old enough to move out....
