I can see why this is rude and socially unacceptable, but it's illegal too?

Yeah, same way prostitution is illegal... The buying/selling of sex are equally illegal. It's kind of lame.

In many states, the buyer gets a worse sentence/fine than the seller.

I think it's stupid in all honesty. If you want to use your goodies on your body to make money, more power to ya.

DOes your opinion change when they solicit and service customers in front of your house or the kids bus stop?

That is why they should regulate and tax it, but legalize it.

Nobody wants to see that in front of their house, of course. However, prostitution exists now, and always will. Even in Nevada, they have legal prostitution, but only in certain places. Streetwalkers (in my opinion) are a blight on society. Legal prostitution can be beneficial in several different ways.

How can prostitution be beneficial? would it make it morally right? we are human beings and not animals, and accepted certain morally wrong behaviors would continue by a few people but as soon as we all accept and embrace it, then we are lost. Incest would always be committed by a few people in society and does this mean its alway been there and therefore it should be legalised? Let sins be always sins and that the only way society can contain them. :innocent:

As long as a woman is allowed to shoot any guy who asks her for sex in exchange for money with no consequences for doing so, I say why not?

We might be human beings, but we are still animals with natural instincts.

Morality is nothing but something a group of people tries to push on the rest of society...

Actually, no morality is not just something other people thrust upon you unwillingly, it is a necessary part of living in a social group. You have a notion of morality or you would simply do everything that came into your head at any given time. Presumably, you do not do that, do you?

People have different moral values. Your moral tolerances are not necessarily the same as your neighbors. This doesn't mean they are wrong or evil...just different, generally speaking.

Prostitution can be monetarily beneficial to an economy that has taken a huge downward slide in the last few years. It can also prevent people who would otherwise visit an unregulated prostutitue. By regulating it, as they do in Nevada for example, prostitutes are required to visit a doctor on a regular basis, taking all the necessary tests for STD's and various other transmittable diseases. They are required to have PROOF they are clean to work in a brothal. Plus they are paid much better than the average streetwalker. There is no arguing that prostitution is the oldest profession and will be around long after you are gone. Might as well make it beneficial instead of a blight on society.

That guy in the OP went to the wrong place.

If he could pay, he should have gone to a brothel or a spa that offers extra services.

Morality changes over time, I hate to tell you this.

Morality is nothing more than what overall society 'currently' considers acceptable or not acceptable.

Don't forget, society once considered segregation to be 'moral' and the right thing....

Morality is not something only others try to push on us.Yes we are instinctly animals too but we are very HUMAN too and that is why we instinctly want to cover our nakedness even when the whether is good(generally) Murder bothers most of us as well as infidelity, child pornography etc.

Prostitution has always been here and it has also been always wrong. The issue for me here is that if Prostitution is legalised, then how far are we ready to go as lots of other moral issues still stand out there waiting and hoping to be accepted. you accept one, you may as well accept all!
