I-134 Affidavit Questions on Poverty Level?

I was curious of someone could clarify somethings relating to the I-134 Affidavit.

I have read that you need to have 125% of the poverty level. Does this mean I have to have the poverty level PLUS 125% of that level or does it just mean I have to have 25% more of the poverty level?

Also, on the website where I found the numbers for the poverty level, it states the number based on how many people in the household. Does this mean I should choose 2 for the amount of people in my family since my fiancee will be moving here, or do I just count myself? I have no kids or other dependents.

The website I found is below, is this the correct numbers?

THANKS!

Michael

Your income should be at least 125% of the poverty guidelines. In other words, multiply the guideline amount by 1.25.

You include yourself, the person you are sponsoring (your fiancee), and anybody else whom you support. If that is only you and your fiancee, then your household size would be 2.

Yes, those numbers appear to be correct. If you'd like to save yourself a little math, you can download the charts used by USCIS, which include both the 100% and 125% levels.

Okay now I have two people saying different things. If it is 125% compared to just 25%, that is a big difference.

No, they are saying the same thing. 125% of 100 is 125, not 225. Yes, it's a big difference. Use the same thinking as 80% of 100 is 80. It's "of" not "more than".

was the income requirement 125% for the I134 in the past?  I read that it is 100% now for the I-134 and 125% for the I-864  But maybe I am wrong?

I guess it can but up to the consulate.

I am just trying to adjust some things so 2020 IRS tax will be 125% or 100%.

I seem to read varying numbers.

going by the 125% number I think it is taxable income of 21550 for house hold of 2 in 2020? can anyone confirm this?

With the standard deduction 1 person gets of 12,400 that is a gross income of 33,950

Just let me know so I can make income adjustments for 2020

Actually this requirement is rather silly because it doesn't look at expenses that I am aware of. specifically if a home is paid off or not, this can easily save 20,000 in rent or house payments each year.

What about car payments or not?
