Hello Approved,

Have you received your NVC notice yet or not? I got NOA2 for the case which was approved on March 3rd. I am still waiting to hear from NVC.

Hello Approved,

that fee seems to be for the immigration visa. Since you have filed K-1, it should still be $131.

 Approved.....Your link is to the I-130 "Immigrant" Visa. If you follow the Islamabad links to the non-immigrant visa, the fee is still $131 for the I-129F (K1 Visa). Your, profile sig says that you have the I-129F visa track.

The DoS link is also for the I-130 Visa. So far the fee is still unchange and I'm hoping that it will stay like that a few more months...

Our interview is in about 4 weeks and the consulate told us that the price will be $131, and the State Department still lists $131 that as the fee. Our letter of confirmation was dated 18 Feb.

The K1 visa increase won't be in effect for a few months yet IMO. Just remember, it's considered a one-time entry NIV, not an IV (even if it's otherwise treated like an IV).

$131 is the correct fee for a K-1 visa. http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1263.html

Wait a minute, I'm so confused. What is this talk about $131. I sent a $400 check to the USCIS when I filed I-129F. They never said that was too much. Did they just steal my money or something? I'm so confused.

Celine, That's a different fee you paid. And I hope it was $455 not $400... but you paid for the USCIS I-129F Petition fee. The fee we were talking about is the Department of State Visa fee (specifically for the K1). Right now it's $131 but is expected to hit $355 at any time. You pay this fee before the interview at the US Embassy.

You sent a check for $455 for the I-129F petition - this is paid to the Department of Homeland Security. What is being discussed in this thread is the proposed increase for the Visa Interview fee - This is paid to the Department of State. Currently the K-1 interview fee is $131 but it has been discussed that this fee will be increased to $350 fairly soon.

USCIS didn't "steal" your money, but don';t think you're done paying yet. Still have medical fees, interview fees, AOS fees, etc...

That's been the "immigrant" visa application fee for quite some time. The new fees are for "non-immigrant" visa application fees. Apples and Oranges.

This is another thread posted and continued in confusion because folks haven't understood the difference between filing a petition and applying for a visa. So, petition filing fees are confused with visa application fees.

If people would stop interchanging the terms, "file a petition" with "apply for a visa" there would be far less confusion and stress.

Please be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

you need to click on the link below. 400 dollars are for different visa. You are looking for a Fiance visa so just click on the link below.

Once you get married in the US, the adjustment fee is 1010 dollars.

Oh Goodness, can it be USD1010? Pffff.... not cheap, but oh well.. We will think about it later. But regarding that visa fee change. I have heard that someone had to pay USD350 at the US Embassy in Moscow. At least it is more than certain those guys sent packets 3 with that sum of money mentioned in invitations and some people got scammed I guess.. But I hope they won't increase it anytime soon...

Hola Johnny!

Trip was good but I got really sick the day after I arrived! Experienced first hand the joys of a Costa Rican Farmicia. Strange concept to walk in without a prescription and walk out 5 minutes later with antibiotics, Asthma inhaler and cough syrup with codiene (all for $16)... Vanessa nursed me back to health...

They're not really stealing your money bro - just sort of using it for awhile. What's $1010 between friends?
