considered it, but unfortunatly most states are in that situation... There are 34 states that have the high-risk pools and of those 27 are closed to new enrollments...

That does kind of limit your choices at the moment. Have you been able to get your medication? Many of the drug companies offer assistance programs.

Same reason WalMart gets good deals on consumer products from manufacturers. When you bring lots of demand, you can negotiate cost down.

And how does it translate into the insured paying what the uninsureds don't, when the insureds pay a co-pay/deduct on a discount system?

6 stay out of this ... if you want in ... it's your peril ... you starting a fight??

Oh I feel the "peril" Natty

The peril of arguing with a gun nut on a message board, in a country where the evening news is filled with the wacky escapades of wacky people who drive thousands of miles in adult diapers to set fire to someone's house over a difference of opinion.

I get any major work done in China.

With the cost of the plane ticket, it's cheaper, all the way round.

I don't have health insurance.

BUT - all of my USA employees do...

they have 150 yearly deductible then

90/10 on surgeries, regardless of type.

5 percent payments on anything cancer related, insurance covers the other 95 percent.

Liverpool - eh - totally different mosh-up...

My singapore employees have OTHER mosh-up, as well.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't often use the search feature, and I don't usually search for posts where people aren't getting along. After seeing Steven's posts for many years, many of which I disagree with politically, I doubt he could be very horrible.

Those discounts are all BS too!! You have to be poverty level (which of course if I was poor I would have medicaid so I would not need the discount) and IF there are still slots, they give the discounts to the middle class folks (which they NEVER do!!!) They put you on a "surplus" waiting list...

It is cheaper for me to go to Italy twice a year, visit family and get my medicine throught their system and bring it home... I just fear what might happen if something really tragic happens or if I get really sick...

My mother is on medicare and recently they started charging her $15 for each dialysis session (3x a week)... she is on fixed income so cannot really afford the extra $180 a month but without it she dies... So right now we pay for that for her... Her medication costs are about $300 a month for the kidney medicine... It really is a brutal system...
