Ok so here is the deal..

Myself is tied up to a company as i am on a L1 visa. I can only work for this company. My roomate is on a student F1 visa.

The both of us have been given the opportunity to earn money outside of my regular job or his studies.

The question is, HOW do we collect the money as this is legit stuff.

I personally cant sign any tax papers etc, as CIS or whatever might find out. I simply dont want to risk anything. My roomate is not allowed to work either from what we can understand, so what can we do to collect the money ?

Anybody with any comments would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks

You both get to pass on the opportunity.

F1 is limited to working on campus 20 hrs a week while school is in session and full time on school breaks.

L1 is limited to the petitioning employer.

You both willing to risk your current status for a side job? Think about it and then research the consequences of unauthorized employment.

yeah i know... but i mean, of course there must be ways around it... there are ways around any problem in this world..

can i start some kind of legal organisation that will collect the money, and me being the starter of the organisation doesnt directly mean i work for it etc??

i dont know.. whatever i can get is useful

So you're looking for ways around immigration laws?

Your L visa doesn't not allow for additional work other than work for the petitioner. A student visa only allows for work on campus.

There is no other way around it.

For conformation, consult a lawyer.
