AOS Approved With No Interview

Great news! Before my EAD or AP was approved, my green card was! Over the moon happy right now, it's a very exciting feeling! My question was regarding the i 551 stamp, because I never had an interview I never had this put in my passport - should I be doing something about it? According to the USCIS website my card production has been ordered and it will be in the mail shortly, is it now safe for me to apply for jobs? I don't know what other people did in this situation... Thanks in advance!

Job hunting, including applying for jobs is not an issue, receiveing a job offer is not either... actually being employed and working without authorization is...

Your GC is probably 10 -14 days away.... you just need to wait to begin work until the card is in your hands... also, you need a SSN if not received already...

The I-551 stamp is valid for one year, and proves that you are legally allowed to enter the U.S.

You're getting the green card in 2-3 weeks. So, nothing to worry about.

Nope, not unless you have an emergent need for it in the next few days before your GC arrives

Actually, it is much more than "allowed to enter the U.S."... it is a temporary indication that the alien is a PERMANENT RESIDENT of the USA which includes, but not limited to, that the alien is authorized to work
