Corrupt Federal Judge Orders A.C.O.R.N. Funding Restored

A Brooklyn judge yesterday ordered the government to alert federal agencies that it's now OK to fund the embattled community group ACORN.

The organization came under fire last year after employees were caught on video advising activists pretending to be a pimp and a prostitute how to set up a brothel, shield income and avoid taxes.

Congress then ordered the funding ban.

ACORN sued and federal Judge Nina Gershon ruled that it had been unfairly singled out. Yesterday, she ordered officials to tell all agencies to accept and process ACORN grant applications.

"The American taxpayers should not be forced by court order to subsidize a criminal enterprise like ACORN," said Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif).

Republicans are already hammering away at the decision. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), a longtime critic of ACORN and author of a report on the group’s problems, framed Gershon as an “activist judge” appointed by former President Bill Clinton.

“This left-wing activist Judge is setting a dangerous precedent that left-wing political organizations plagued by criminal accusations have a constitutional entitlement to taxpayer dollars,” Issa said in a news release. “The Obama administration should immediately move to appeal this injunction.”

Let's be fair. If we advocate for retracting corporate or private sector funding from influencing people, surely this should apply to disingenuous groups like this.

There is no denying that they were caught red-handed advocating breaking the law.

Since when does left wing activist == corrupt?

Are you creating a new dictionary definition, or do you have an actual citation of some illegality by said judge?

If Michael Moore releases a video accusing someone of wrongdoing, are you going to say the same thing? The video was edited to make a political point. The original unedited video did not hold up as evidence in a court of law. Acron was cleared in that case.

Partly. But he's also partly serious. He really does think of the judge as corrupt, or incapable of rendering a fair judgment. Like I said, typical Right Wing BS.
