Hi all,

While going through various VJ time lines, I feel I am the slowest one at the NVC.

I got I-130 approval notice for my wife 2 weeks ago. And I have not received anything from the NVC. I called them up a couple of days ago to find out that we do have a case number assigned. I gave the operator my email address but I havent received anything. The operator however told me that AOS and D-3032 forms were mailed out already. Still it's been over 2 weeks already.

How come people get their forms in a couple of days through their emails and get the balls rolling.

AM I MISSING SOMETHING???

PLEASE HELP!

My second question is that I also filed I-130 for my mom at the same time. Havent received the approval from USCIS yet for that case. Do parents' cases take the same amount of time? Or do they take longer?

thanks all

Call them again and verify your e-mail addresses. I had to do that and within a couple of days we had an e-mail with the DS-3032 stuff in it. See my signature.

As far as parent's cases...i think they do take longer. Take a look at the processing times.

don't expect NVC to send you forms, except the DS-3032 via an email, in a DS-3032 kit.

Have a read?

Good Luck !

I was a few days late in calling and giving email addresses. The first operator told me that it was too late for her to send me the DS3032 kit via the email and Id have to wait for the hard copy in the mail. I didnt let this sit and called back and talked to someone else who told me that she would "put in a request" to have the kit emailed to me and it was the very next day. The first operator was lazy, I guess. Dont let them boss you around! call and request it be emailed. If that person doesnt respond in the positive, call back until you have someone that will.

Christeen -

wow .

I disagree, vehemently.

That 'kit' contains other useful stuff - like the AOS FEE BILL.

But -

in a 'timetick' thing -

IF the kit is received, then NVC has generated an IID, as well - and that IID is useful, when trying to pay things online at the payment portal.

If the DS-3032 template is sent in prior to the IID being generated, IMO - it will not be useful, and cause a delay at NVC for matching up of NVC casefile number to IID number ...

The IID is part of the barcode.

I know it's been some time since you went through this process -but I'd suggest to you that your experience, compared to NOW, - well - the process has shifted, a bit. If you read my posting on the link above, you should be able to glean WHY the IID is important. I hope, at least, that you can.

The thing I like about the DS-3032 kit - is that is absolute PROOF that NVC is ready to accept payments via the online payment portal. The payment portal, these days, is leading indication, based on status, of 'what to do next'. My link explains that, in great detail.

The 'receiving of the DS-3032 kit', imo - is a side issue - but - from a timetick standpoint -the receiving of the 'kit' is bottom-line-indication that NVC has generated the IID, and fee bills are ready to be paid online.

Happy Friday !

I was referring to the "mailed" kit... I misread that he received confirmation on NVC having the case and he was waiting for the hard copy to arrive in the mail... If that was the case, then I was suggesting that they use the VJ template and e-mail the forms... There is always the option to create the barcode (although I did not have luck figuring that one out)... But in re-reading I see the snag in that they are saying that they missed the e-mail window (which I find crazy)... In that case I say keep calling to get the info electronically sent. Sorry I read too quick...

Christeen - hey - no worries, lass.

YOU KNOW Most of the timeticks, I learned because of you...

I've written up something, these last 48 hours - for those who refuse to 'be fast' and insist on playing the 'postal game' with NVC - ie - 'waiting on NVC to send out something'.

It's heinous, evil, and speaks of one's lacksidaisical approach to NVC processing. But I digress.

Ya - I have to double check these things, recently -for 'mail' vs 'email'. I'm mostly innured to anyone trying to stick to 'purely postal', but - I have to take into consideration, that there WILL BE those on 'purely postal' tracks. To heck with the internet and email, you betcha !

Some update:

I got the AOS payment instructions (invoice #) through regular mail and paid the AOS fee online last night. My wife has not received anything yet in her country (she should get DS-3032 according to the operator that i spoke with).

I asked my wife to send an email anyways based on NVC emails guidelines to designate me as an agent. Today she got this reply back, which is kind of vague to me. Does this mean they have accepted her request to designate me as an agent or something else? She did send all the required information (case #, dob's, etc)

Here is their reply:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

Please be advised our office has revised our guidelines for communication between the National Visa Center and the public. We are now required to verify case information each time we receive an inquiry.

According to U.S. law, the National Visa Center is only permitted to discuss details of a visa case with authorized representatives and when provided with all of the following information:

" NVC case number or CIS receipt number

" Petitioner's name and date of birth

" Beneficiary's name and date of birth

" Your full name

If you are corresponding regarding an I-140 petition you must provide the following information:

" NVC case number or CIS receipt number

" Name of the petitioning company

" Beneficiary's name and date of birth

" Your full name

Please resubmit your inquiry including the required information.

Please be advised that your inquiry and/or any documents submitted with your inquiry have been processed and placed into the case file.

If you wish to obtain case specific information, please submit the required security information requested above.

Any thoughts?

Did she use the wiki template? She needs to fill it out exactly for what it shows. I dont know for sure if they accepted it or not.
