Sending additional documents to the consulate

Hey everyone!

I FINALLY received my police certificate from Australia and am now ready to send it off to the Vancouver consulate ... Can I send this to the embassy using DHL or must I use Canada Post?

Don't know the answer to your question, Ali but just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That is SO awesome -- you must be so relieved that it's all finally on its way.

I have no idea what courier companies Vancouver will accept, if any.

Email them at VancouverK@state.gov. Include the Vancouver case number from your Packet 3. They'll get back to you in a day or two, tops, with the authoritative answer.

Does Vancouver use a P.O. Box like Montreal, or do they have a physical mailing address? Because I think that would make a difference. In my experiences, mail couriers (at least down here in the US) like Fed Ex won't deliver mail to a P.O. Box.

I believe you could always overnight it using Canada Post. It would probably get to Vancouver just as fast.

They have a physical address. I would think it would be okay as they receive the packets from NVC from DHL ... but I don't know.

I want to send it through DHL as Dan works there and he gets a 50% discount, lol ;P

The Montreal Consulate has a blurb about what mail couriers to use if sending packages. I believe if you want to use a private courier, you need to send it to the actual Montreal consulate. But Canada Post packages, even with signature, gets sent to the PO Box. I just looked at the Vancouver consulate website and it seems like it doesnt indicate any PO Box address... so maybe its safe to send through courier?

Turns out it was totally safe They e-mailed me this afternoon and gave me the go-ahead, so I went to DHL after I got home from work and sent it! It should be there tomorrow morning at 9 am ... now here's hoping they process it ASAP! I can't wait to put this waiting game behind us!
