holy #######!

i haven't been on here for a LONG TIME!

congrats to all those already approved!!!

as for my fiancee and i...

she got her appointment letter the 2nd week of september.the date was for october 19.

however, some glitches with the montreal's website forced her to reschedule for december 13.

boo! >:(

can you believe it guys!? we filed in freakin' march and didn't get the appointment letter 'til september!!!

geez, montreal was so back logged!!! we originally thought that she'd be here by july/august, but obviously

that didn't work out. she was pregnant at the time and gave birth on september 9 to our first baby. it's a boy!!!

i filed a consular report of birth abroad and my fiancee recently received the baby's passport!

now, were are just waiting until december 13 and hopefully, she and our son will be here for christmas!!!

wish us luck everyone!

Wow! I can't believe you have to wait so long for your fiancee's interview! I hope everything goes fine at the interview and your fiancee is approved! Congratulations on your baby boy! It must be hard to not be with them now but hopefully you will all be together by Christmas!

As for me and my fiance, he has been here for 15 days so far and we are going to go apply for a Social Security number for him. We're also going to apply for our marriage license today. We will probably get married next week. It's still almost unreal for us that we wont have to go through months of separation anymore, I think it will take us some time to really realize it wont be that way anymore. But we are very glad we are together finally and don't have to be separated anymore.

Didn't even notice this thread until now, sorry. :)

NOA1 and NOA2 came on time, then we didn't hear from the (Nairobi) embassy for a while - apparently they were trying to send the packet from Nairobi to Kampala via ordinary mail, which... well, you might as well throw it in a fire as entrust it to the postal systems there, silly embassies! So we lost a few weeks waiting for it before we called and bugged them.

Medical exam (at IOM Nairobi) was July 8, then they (IOM) said they wanted a followup TB lab culture that would take eight weeks :crying: so the embassy interview got pushed back to early October, but we still had cultural and religious ceremonies in Uganda (big! fun!) in mid-July.

The first day at the embassy she was lied to about everything and sent off on wild goose chases; the second day they interviewed her and everything went reasonably smoothly. Got her visa October 8, gave notice at her job, moved out of her apartment, said goodbyes, and arrived in the US on November 6. We spent a week or so visiting family and friends and sightseeing, then got home to Hilo November 15.

Our official in-the-US wedding was November 21, on a sunny day, right by the ocean, with a Hawaiian cultural practitioner and a dozen or so close friends including another local VJ couple! :) Now we have to wait to get a certified copy of the marriage certificate (4-6 weeks?) then we can file for the first AOS.

considering that the visa was approved yesterday and it's 5 days (not including weekends) until her flight...

what are the chances of her getting her visa from dhl? not sure if they operate on weekends.

i just hope i don't have to reschedule her flight. plus i want us to be together for x-mas!!!

Gah! I cant believe I am still in the process. We sent off our packet 3 to London in the beginning of December. Still no news on an interview date and it has been 2 months. I called the DOS and they said that it could be due to a large amount of petitions. I cant believe this process has taken so long! It would be nice to at least know what is going on.

- March 24, 2010 sent off petition

- March 26, 2010 item was received in LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA 92677

- March 29, 2010 check cashed

- March 29, 2010 NOA1 Notice Date

- April 3, 2010 received hard copy of NOA1

- August 19, 2010 touched

- August 19, Approved! (received NOA2 August 23rd)

- Left NVC August 27, 2010 to London, England

Aww, I can't believe you haven't had your interview yet! Have you tried calling the Embassy in London? I would.

I wonder what ever happened to Iqha, if she got her visa yet or not.
