And here is silly me believing that black history month was a month designated to teaching people why slavery was bad and how people strived to over come it. Not only black people, but white people who helped them out believing there should be equality no matter the color of your skin. Much like WW2 history is taught to show that no matter religion there is never an excuse to commit crimes against other people. Its done so history doesn't repeat itself, because one group of people being against another group of people for any reason is stupid. Doesn't matter if its religion, race or language.

I believe the argument is also that the historical achievements of black people were overlooked until relatively recently, in large part, because of a climate of pervasive racism.

It is undeniable that there was significant racial inequality in this country's history, right through to the immediate past. It is also undeniable that you, I and Mr Paul here are the direct beneficiaries of an unfair system - whether we choose to admit that or not.

Affirmative Action is precisely about race..... and why it's truly easy to demonize minorities who are in certain schools. They'll never be believe as being there on their own Merritt.

As far as "Black History Month" goes, it's a part of American History...

Everyone wants to play this whole segregated history game when the truth is, all of our histories are intertwined. One group should never be pointed out separately like that as it only adds to the problem of prejudice/continued racism.

You seem to have forgotten the advert I posted a while back during black history month, which said "black is powerful, black is beautiful, black is unique". I don't even want to hear your bullshit excuse for this one. And boy do you always have excuses. Not to mention, every time you are challenged and asked to answer what would happen if the word black was replaced with white, you stall and then run on your own irrelevant tangent and basically divert attention from the truth - that the same statement would be considered downright racist.

BY, we have Black History Month because society has deemed that black americans, by virtue of the historical discrimination that they were subjected to, are granted a certain amount of leeway when it comes to free speech. That does not mean that anything is justifiable under the umbrella of Black History Month - a banner that says,

for example "Kill All White People" is clearly not acceptable, nor should it be.

The reason we don't have a White History month, as I have told you, is that "whiteness" is a rather irrelevant concept for most whites.

Usually there's the story, followed by "effing illegal, drug dealing rapist Hispanic scumbags" (or something similar), followed by several pages of response to the bigotry and people defending said bigotry by pretending that the language they use and the way they phrase their arguments is not bigoted or racist.

It was incredibly stupid actually as it advocates we basically take it in the name of being PC.

Speak up against illegal aliens and you are accused of being anti-brown, furthermore, against all immigrants period.

Speak up against the crime rates this one group is overrepresented in and you are a bigoted racist.

What most people who dish out such labels cannot answer is why no other demographic is as equally represented. Instead we hear that it's basically the same everywhere. Nonetheless, I am still waiting on facts to illustrate this assumption. Or is asking for facts bigoted as well?

How about answering what you expect America to do with the huge problem of both illegal immigration as well as the crime committed by them?
