Because personal insults are much easier to police than the underlying bigotry. Got it.

Just because you don't like someone's opinion, doesn't mean it's all bigoted/hatred, etc...

Sometimes things are a part of life and sometimes some 'unfriendly' things have to be done to fix a problem.

I didn't say to scare the 'legals' and never said it was right/fair, but at the same time I will say when you have so many in this country who are indeed illegal, it becomes pretty easy to stereotype everyone.

Profiling is honestly something I don't have a problem with.

If it walks like a duck

Talks like a duck

and acts like a duck

then maybe, just maybe, you should check to see if it is indeed a duck.

Don't just make it hard though on those who you're questioning, hit employers hard, hit safehouses hard, hit rental houses hard, hit real estate agents hard, and work to resolve the problem.

We're all a little prejudice at the end of the day on certain things, and sometimes rightfully so.

The simple fact that you can find any justification to discriminate against people because of the color of their skin or the language they speak makes you a racist.

Do you realize that you group an enormous amount of people into one category when you do this?

(countries where Spanish is listed as an official language)

Cuba

Dominican Republic

El Salvador

Panama

Puerto Rico

So, they're all ducks? Almost an entire continent of people, plus some... of ducks.

Uhmm, racial profiling is discrimination. It is bigotry and it's immoral and that's a fact. Like it or not.

Its very unfortunate. All illegals should be looked for equally and not just this mass anti-latin craze that seems so prominant. I'm sure there are quite a few other illegals in the country, including ones from my own country Canada, as well as many others from overseas. There definately needs to be a reform in some way or another, but I don't think building a huge wall is going to keep anyone out.

You are wrong Mr. Canadian Nazi... The blame lies on ignorant people like you who can not seem to see past their bigoted noses!

You are so full of #######..

Do you think this stops people like you from scapegoating them? Hell no, it does not.

Gezz I wonder why that is. Or the fact that 77% of illegal aliens are Latino. Let me dig for some info from my closed account. Here it is:

FBI's MOST WANTED MURDERERS

Care to find me any folks from:

  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Sweden
  • Australia
  • Greece
  • China
  • New Zealand
  • India

Actually add in all of Asia + Africa + Europe for that matter: ~ approx 5.610 billion people yet not a damn name. So go cry to the ###### mods about this little reality being racist and have this locked too.

Edit: You know what is funny, I was reading the Aussie paper the other day and an Aussie Mexican (which is funny alone) was hating on American customs because they give her the evil eye. Gezz I wonder why they raise their eyebrow when you say you promise to catch your connecting flight and leave. Nope, they are apparently profiling her.

Actually, no it's your opinion.

Sometimes some evils are necessary to rid the nation of a problem.... Never said it was 'right' or it was pretty, but is necessary in many cases.

People seem to assume that everyone should be targeted for the actions of the few. Apparently, doing so makes it fair for all. No, what is does is punishes those that have nothing to do with it. Profiling is not about race or skin color, it's about targeting the background or attitude of those responsible for something. If a country is abusing the Visa system, you specifically target them, you certainly should not go punishing everyone else, just to be fair.

Actually it makes me prejudice is anything. Not necessarily racist.

Oh and "Mexicans" aren't the only problem with illegals and only make up a fraction of them... Many to most of them come from Central/South America...

Yes, they are all 'ducks' for now for the most part until the problem is solved. There are far too many Hispanic origin illegals to not profile at this point.

I never said it was right, but it's more of a necessary evil to protect the nation.

It's hard for people to comprehend that it is a 'problem' overall and the vast majority are of a certain origin.

Is it unfortunate that something like profiling might be necessary, yes it is.

If someone could come up with a better option to rid the nation of the illegals, be my guest, but as we stand now, to find people, you have to profile those who might be innocent.

It's just like "circumstantial" evidence. You might be innocent, but don't think that some prosecutors won't let a jury decide your fate. Evidence pointed that you might have done something and now it's up to the system to check and see if you did or not.

Sure...there are illegal aliens from other countries and other races, but the fact remains that 86% of illegal aliens are Hispanic and most of those are from Mexico. Under our laws everyone is treated all the same if they are illegal, but since so many illegal aliens are Hispanic...that is the face of illegal immigration that is most visible and most recognized. Like it or not...it is what it is.

But that doesn't stop the usual suspects from claiming they are being singled out.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

So what are you saying? That we should shut up because you feel offended.

You guys love to champion on illegals yet downright refuse to listen to anything regarding the negative impact of them. That then just becomes racist and profiling. Give me a ###### break..
