Not really.

If you're legal, then what is your worry?

Re: Nagishkaw

What does wanting to keep illegals out have to do with your image?

People that believe in these types of malicious hoaxes are generally the less well educated. The less well educated are more likely to both suffer from the effects of and be fearful of bigotry. The legal have plenty to worry about but hey, let's not blame the people that perpetuate the belief that all hispanics are illegals, like the malicious hoaxers, let's blame the illegals for sullying the name of those who 'look like' them. Brilliant!

What's the worry?

People who automatically assume you're illegal because you're hispanic or hispanic-looking, or just use the illegal excuse to treat you like less of a human being. It's called prejudice and it's not right.

Just because someone is an illegal also doesn't give anyone the right to treat them like an animal or call them "trash." Do you believe in human rights? or karma for that matter?

And FYI hispanic DOES NOT equal illegal. I know tons of hispanic people who are and have always been legal in this country. Part of them are my family from Puerto Rico, part of the US. A heck of a lot of them don't even speak Spanish anymore. Do you think this stops people like you from scapegoating them? Hell no, it does not.

lol, don't pretend to know me. Especially when it comes to the hispanic community. I have more hispanic friends (including one of my best friends) than I do anyone else..

Yes, an illegal is trash just like every other criminal out there. Illegal = criminal and should be treated as such. If you're illegal, you need to be tossed back over, period. If you keep coming back over, you go to prison. It's really that simple.

Well don't present yourself as a heartless jerk or a racist and no one will think you are one. Simple as that.

I call things as I see 'em (in this case, read 'em).

Oh and let's not forget that in the living memory of many Hispanic families in SoCal they have experience of the actuality of having family members deported thousands of miles deep into the Mexican countryside and dumped, some never to make it back to the US - many of whom were US citizens or otherwise legally in the US.

That's how the rest of the society works and how a 'stereotype' works...

I didn't say it's right, but it's a select few that ruin the image of the rest of a community.

In the hispanic community, it just so happens to be easier with millions and millions ruining their name, whch makes it even worse sometimes for people to play the prejudice game.

Personally, I'd be more for cutting military spending overseas and start working on the border problem... Atleast that'd be productive hopefully...

No numbskull, that's how bigotry works. It's not a game, and you are prejudiced if you believe it's ok to 'scare' the ####### out of legal citizens because you personally have 'had enough of' illegals.

Fixx0red.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I agree. Let's build a 40-foot wall around the country and have guard towers set up every 100ft. or so. The border guards should have machine guns in case something happens and we'll put up huge searchlights so we can see even on the darkest night. We'll also have barbed wire around the outside for further protection. Since all this is going to be expensive, we'll limit the amount of time that our citizens can enter or leave the country, so we can devote all our resources watching for the illegals. It might be a good idea to impose a curfew so that our citizens can only be out on the streets at certain times and a loud siren will let the people know when it's time to come in. In the interest of public safety, will encoursage citizens to stay in their houses at certain times, anyone outside their house after curfew must be an illegal and will be shot. We'll also be able to track down all the illegals in the country since we will issue all our citizens a unique identifier number and brightly colored uniforms so that we can see them at all times. What a great idea, I like your thinking.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement or I.C.E. officials in California said they too had heard the rumors were spreading in various states. Virginia Kice, Western Regional Communications Director released the following statement:

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not comment on its future operations. However, contrary to the reported rumors, ICE has no agreement with Wal-Mart regarding worksite enforcement operations. We are focused on smart, effective immigration enforcement that places priority first on those dangerous criminal aliens who present the greatest risk to security of our communities, not sweeps or raids to target undocumented immigrants indiscriminately.”

They are first of all going after only the dangerous ones. Well thanks a lot. How about having huge sweeps at random? Go to some small and some nid sized and some large places of businesses and do random sweeps. (Send me a message as I can help tell you where many are as I go to many wharehouses all over the country but almost all in Houston would be like shootong fish in a barrel.) And not just hit the illegals working there but then faine heavily the business owners that hired them. This would have a huge ripple effect of scaring the other business owners that they may be next and actually get rid of their illegals and hire real Americans. May have to pay a better wage but that is the way it is. Just raise the price to us a tad to offset. Can't make it you think doing that then get out of business and let others who think they can.

Because personal insults are much easier to police than the underlying bigotry. Got it.

We cannot take action on items that we are unaware of....How about helping us out with a report on these issues?

I didn't say to scare the 'legals' and never said it was right/fair, but at the same time I will say when you have so many in this country who are indeed illegal, it becomes pretty easy to stereotype everyone.

Profiling is honestly something I don't have a problem with.

If it walks like a duck

Talks like a duck

and acts like a duck

then maybe, just maybe, you should check to see if it is indeed a duck.

Don't just make it hard though on those who you're questioning, hit employers hard, hit safehouses hard, hit rental houses hard, hit real estate agents hard, and work to resolve the problem.

We're all a little prejudice at the end of the day on certain things, and sometimes rightfully so.
