I never been in Downtown Los Angeles ca and thats not my states home...my mother lives over there. i filed her AOS and we need interview on APRIL 09, in the morning. now i need to rent a car and make reservation to hotel closed in immigration as much as possible walking distance or driving 1 mile. i want to stay 4 days like starting april 7 to 10 that way i can go china town i never been there too. i know is downtown really crowded and much more people than here in my states. well trying to get one bedroom for 2 people. and i have a car i need to park. my budget was $55.00 for 3 days and plus the parking like 10 dollars a day its ok.

i dont really care if the room was no fancy thing. i just only need to sleep and prepare to our interview. so please anybody knows over there and i can really accept all your input thank you so much.

$55/night anywhere near downtown L.A will be tough/near-impossible. I have a feeling you'll be somewhere deep out in the surrounding cities (West Covina, Anaheim, etc) and driving in.

ok i m going little bit high to my budget but still downtown has parking even i can pay 10 box a day thats fine

I lived in Los Angeles for 37 yrs. and sorry to tell you, you will have to budget way more than $55 for a room for 3 days I'm assuming, and the parking in downtown Los Angeles is outrageous. $10 may get you 30 minutes of parking in one of the open lots there. I usually use Expedia and they have ok prices and try to stay somewhere at least 10 miles away from the downtown Los Angeles area.

Sounds like downtown Chicago where the USCIS and all the consulate offices are located at, but do have free parking for the employees. Chicago did add the Metro, a train service with spokes all around the city, so we stay 50 miles outside of town, main Union station is only blocks away, parking is positively impossible.

Does LA have choo choo trains too?

Often wonder why they don't put these places near or on major airports, least you can find a place to park and access is so much better. Downtown sucks.

Chicago's suburban rail service is called Metra. It has main downtown terminals at Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center for the north, northwest and west facing lines, and also at LaSalle/Jackson near the CBOT for the southbound lines. I ride it every day, it's a wonderful service.

Actually, they do have above and below ground subways systems in place now and they are actually pretty good. The bus system is just down right not good at all, but for those without transportation, its basically the only way.

The USCIS office is within walking distance of Union Station, where you can hook up with the metro and light rail systems. Union Station is the hub for many of the lines, so you will be able to choose from a lot more places to stay. I would NOT recommend staying anywhere near the office that you could get for $55/night -- it's close enough to Skid Row that you should be careful. Plenty of nice places to stay Downtown but you get what you pay for.

Have a look at the Metro maps/lines on their website: http://www.metro.net/. Pick somewhere near one of the stations. Good luck!

It's not my fault the people in Chicago don't know how to spell Metro.

If Obama and our governor have their way, soon we should have a high speed rail into Chicago, that's the good news, bad news is only one train per week.

Check out the Howard Johnson Express in Claremont CA If is about $60 a night probably cheaper if you look for specials and only a short distince from the Claremont metro station where you can hop a train to Union Station for about $15 round trip

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
