This week I got my new China visa, just in time to copy of entire passport for the K1 packet I am about to mail off.

I was very happy I was granted the 1 year, ME, 90 day stay each time.

Wish me luck!

I am confused...why does a newly issued visa sticker matter if you are just now sending in your K1 packet. What is more important are the stamps from your previous trips you should have, ya?

After I read my post even I was confused. haha

What I meant was:

I got my second china visa. I also sent my Fiancee a packet of docs for her interview on the 23rd. My I-129F was approved back in November.

I already have 2 stamps in my passport from 2 previous visits to China and she has 1 stamp in her passport from a visit to the US.

Clear?

The value I took away was that they gave you 90 day stays. My last one was 60 days and I'd like 90 next time. Which Chinese Consulate?

New York

I put 180 days as my longest stay on the form. I have also read that if you include a letter with a compelling reason you can probably get up to 180 days.

Good luck!

Did you use an agency or do it yourself? If agency, which agency?

I've always used www.visa-chinese.com in Houston because I trust them and their fees are low. I'd rather pay a few more bucks up front and get the 90 days then have to deal with it in country. We plan to stay longer next time.

Hi Pushbrk,

I always use www.mychinavisa.com out of Houston and was able to get a 2 year multi-entry 90 day stay visa through them without any problem just this past December. It was the 3rd time that I have gotten a visa through them and have had a good experience each time.

I'm not aware of a two-year L visa being available. Are you certain your visa is valid until December 2011?

Yes - if you are married to a Chinese National then you qualify for a 2 year multi-entry L visa. If you PM me your email address I will forward you an email that I received from www.mychinavisa.com describing how to go about applying for one.

I got the PM, thanks. I'm going to paste in the meat of it here for others to see. Did you pay any additional fee to either the agency or Consulate for the two-year visa?

================================================================================

You may apply for the 2 year visa by submitting copies of both your

marriage certificate and your wife's passport copy. The visa application

only has an option for multiple entries for 12 months, so just cross out 12

months and write in 24 months. It's as simple as that. These visas will

give you multiple entries for two years, with 90 days per entry.

No - the cost is the same as the 1 year visa, no extra charges apply. $130 for the visa + $43 agency service fee + cost of mailing back your passport/visa..

Terrific, thanks! This agency is also less expensive than the one I usually use. We may also request the 180 day stay with a letter about my father in-law's age and health as well as his status as a retired General. Should do the trick.

Actually, I suppose we could just ask about this when we go to the SF Consulate to pick up my wife's new passport in a couple weeks.

It's something different, available to USC Spouses of PRC nationals.

There's a special tick box on the form, you can see it, if you download it from the Houston Consular Web Site thingie.

Basically - you tick the box -

show yer Chinese Marriage Certificate (or functional equivalent)

and ya gets it.

know nothing about 'mail in with a service' as I go in person.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

In Changsha last year, my allowed stay was about to pass. So my fiancee' took me to apply for an extension of stay in China. Cost 940 yuan, but I was allowed 30 extra days (after 3 weeks of processing). So total, I was there 51 days past original visa time expiration. If you find yourself nearing the limit of stay, you can apply (and I assume obtain) a 30 day extension. May be uniform in China, but in Changsha, we were told to apply a minimum of 10 days BEFORE your time is up, else it is automatic denial. Also were told only one extension per visit.
