Questions about online Filipina sites like FilipinaHeart and CherryBlossom.

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. I am drawn to Filipinas and I've just started chatting with girls on both FilipinaHeart and CherryBlossoms and I had a couple of questions?

How much interest do guys usually get on these websites? First a little about myself - I'm only 34 years old, I consider myself to be fairly attractive and do some bodybuilding/powerlifting and like to think my physique represents it. I'm also growing my hair out and have 4 pictures total on my profiles. Also, I've put a lot of detail into my profiles and they are rather long to read compared to most. I'm a good person and I'd like to believe I reflect that in my profiles.

Now that you know what kind of guy I am, I have to say that I'm a bit overwhelmed by the response I've gotten on these sites and am literally getting far too many messages, smiles, and interests to keep up with! When I logon and am browsing I can't go for more than a minute or two before being bombarded with IM requests. Now, don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE it! Especially after trying American dating sites like Plenty Of Fish and OKCupid where there is virtually ZERO interest from American women. But is this huge amount of interest normal for most guys who put up profiles on these sites? I looked at my yahoo spam folder and literally every 7 or 8 minutes someone else sends me a message or smiles/takes interest in me. Wow!!

It's a night and day difference between these sites and American sites. Is this normal? Do all the guys get this kind of attention? I feel bad because I can't possibly chat with all of these gorgeous, friendly girls.

I also had a couple other questions about Filipina girls in general --

How important is religion to most Filipinas? I am a very moral and family-oriented person, but I am an Atheist. And I'd like the girl I marry someday to be open-minded and educated and tolerant. So far every Filipina I've mentioned this to online doesn't seem to have a problem with it, even if they've put a lot of "God stuff" in their profiles. But in general, is my Atheism a problem for Filipinas? My ex-wife is Mexican and was Catholic until we started chatting a little bit, then decided she didn't really believe in it any more. :) I'd be fine with a believe just want to make sure there are no real conflicts with Filipina girls.

Final question, and I have to be honest -- How important is having a good sex life to Filipina girls? I am rather adventurous and I've always said that I want to experience everything sex and intimacy has to offer with my life partner, as long as it only includes the two of us and not other people. Are Filipina girls repressed in the bedroom or are they generally eager to try new things, naughty things, and get pretty wild? I consider myself a good lover and need to be with someone who will be aggressive some of the time, initiate things often, and have an appetite that never ceases... lol. I know it's tough to stereotype one race in the bedroom, but I'd think there are some generalizations that might be made. Then again, maybe not. :D

Just being honest, hope I didn't offend anyone. I'm looking forward to your answers!

You got no response from American women from your profile on those local sites - did you think maybe your lacking a personality? Are you trying to sell a used car or are you genuinely interested in meeting women?

I didn't mean I got "literally" no response on POF or OKC, I meant that there was no real interest from anyone. On those sites every single girl, no matter how hideous looking or unfriendly, gets flooded with messages from guys every day. I've had a few conversations going with good looking girls but they seem to just end abruptly and I never get another response.

With American women you have to walk on eggshells and make NO mistakes when you try to interact with them, or they lose interest and move on to the next guy without giving you a real chance.

I think I've got personality. I'm pretty laid back and fun to talk to, if the response from the Filipinas I've chatted with are any indication. ;)

I think I am gonna throw up.

Hope that doesn't offend you.

I wonder if your profile contains this much pretentiousness.?

Like yourself much?

P.S. I hope your man enough to take a punch...lol...sorry dude, but, you earned it. Good job!

There are plenty of laid back, American women who are easy to talk to. Maybe the sites you joined don't attract the right clientele?

Just keep in mind when using those Filipina sites, that it's free for any girl to join and there's virtually no screening, so you're going to get a lot of girls who write to you even you were Quasimodo in drag. Women (people in general) are the same everywhere...some are good, some are bad. Don't buy into stereotypes, realize you are taking a big gamble with online dating (local or distant) and good luck.

In what way is my post pretentious? So if a guy describes himself as "fairly attractive" he's pretentious? For the sake of not offending people like you shoud I describe myself as "ugly", would that make you feel better? I'm man enough to take a real punch but your post hardly qualifies... lol. Grow up.

That's all I was wondering. Thanks for the helpful reply.

Simple is as simple does. Did you even think through your thread before you posted? Feeling good about your looks is not a problem at all. I hope every1 would feel good about themselves. You obviously felt it, hence your speedy reply. Grow up? That's the pot calling the kettle black. I admit I have a tendency for sarcasm. Others this site are more tolerant and will probably be more helpful than I. Good luck on your hunt. Be careful the snake bite because you got a lot of skin exposed.

LOL you still haven't specified what exactly about my post was "pretentious". I guess you just generally don't like me but can't actually justify yourself, hence your lame reply.

Is it because I'm confident?

Is it because I'm Atheist?

Is it because I have needs and requirements regarding what I want from a lifelong partner and am not afraid to say it?

I'm sorry you're so insecure. Maybe you should go work on yourself and let the "tolerant and helpful" people here answer my questions in the meantime.

 You definitely need to keep both eyes open. And here's a tip, that prettiest girl on filippinahearts that likes you so much? She also likes about 15 other Joe's. Maybe not her fault but she has to keep her options open because many many many guys test these sites and become "keyboard Romeos" for a few months then they disappear when their 3 months subscription runs out. Leaving these girls with a few dozen pictures and letters from a guy she'll never see. According to A Foreign Affair (another popular matchmaking site), 98% of all guys writing to foreign girls NEVER visit these countries or the girls! That means maybe 9 of the 10 guys these girls meet online will never visit them. So, why would she think you're the one and drop everyone else?

Then of course there's the scammers, which for some reason average guys can't seem to spot because they are blinded and fall in love with the photo. My fiance just sent me a link to the local news arcticle about some American who was scammed out of thousands of dollars and even sent money for his "baby" to get her fiancee Visa and come to the US to marry him. Well...of course he didn't know about Visas else he wouldn't have sent her money to get one and apply for one in Manila..and her photo was from a famous filipina movie star/model. And he was waiting at LAX for her to arrive...and of course she never arrived.

There's also a lot of very nice girls out there. And you can find happiness but you need to be realistic with yourself. Don't fall in love with the photo! Fall in love with the person!

Thanks for the input. :)

I definitely plan on taking my time and will be very careful. It's understandable that they'd chat with multiple guys and I don't expect anyone to cling to me. Many of the girls I chat with webcam with me (even though I don't have one) and seem to enjoy our conversations, but I wouldn't jump the gun without actually travelling to the PH and spending quality time with them and their families first.

I love Filipinas, but know little about them at the moment. I only hope my shortcomings and differences won't deter them.

Please watch it with the judgmental, baiting type of comments - they add nothing to the conversation.

Will do, my apologies for taking the bait.

Regarding your religion question, most Filipinas are Catholic and most of those are devout Catholic. Hopefully you can find a pinay that is also an atheist, especialy if you want to have kids. Its best if both parents share the same religious beliefs.

OK...I will remove myself from the conversation. I just felt the boy needed a wake up call. How can some1 be so unaware? Asking about the sexuality of a nationality (filipina). Sexist, immature and dim witted. He exuded enough confidence that I thought he would appreciate it. I was wrong.

It is pretty interesting. So far every girl that I've asked about this during chat has indicated that it's not a problem. Even girls who put in their profile that they want a "God-fearing" man. So it's good to see. :)

I'm not sure if I want kids to be honest. But I'm still willing to consider it.
